  Issue: On certain RV trailers, the circuit board for the LED light rings on the cooktop knobs could fail. As a result, the wiring and/or LED lights could overheat and melt. Note: This recall only affects RV trailers equipped with certain Suburban cooktops. Safety Risk: Wiring and/or lights that overheat and melt can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Heartland will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your trailer to a dealership to disable or remove the LED light rings. To reduce the safety risk, Heartland recommends that you should disconnect the power for your trailer when it's not used.

  Issue: On certain RV trailers, the fabric for the patio awning may not be properly attached. As a result, the awning could detach and fall from the trailer. Safety Risk: An awning that falls from the trailer could create a risk of injury. An awning that falls from a moving vehicle could create road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Heartland will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealership to inspect the fabric roll on the awning. It will be repaired or replaced, as necessary.

  Issue: On certain RV trailers, the quick disconnect fittings for the propane (LP) gas system may be defective. As a result, the fittings could crack and leak propane. Safety Risk: A propane gas leak could create the risk of a fire or explosion. Corrective Actions: Heartland will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your RV trailer to a dealership to inspect the quick disconnect fittings on the propane system. The quick disconnect fitting(s) will be replaced, if required. The dealer will also perform a leak test.

  Issue: On certain RV trailers, the propane (LP) lines on the outdoor cooktop may not have been properly tightened. As a result, the connection could leak propane gas. Safety Risk: A propane gas leak could create the risk of a fire or explosion. Corrective Action: Heartland RV will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealer to inspect and tighten the propane (LP) connection to the outside cooktop, as necessary. The dealer will also perform a leak test. To reduce the safety risk, Heartland recommends that you should not use the outside cooktop until the recall repairs have been completed.

  Issue: On certain RV trailers, the propane (LP) regulator could fail. If this happens, high-pressure propane could reach the appliances. Note: This recall only affects trailers equipped with a Winntec model 6020 propane regulator. Safety Risk: Unregulated propane pressure can create the risk of an appliance fire. Corrective Action: Heartland RV will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealer to replace the propane (LP) regulator.

  Issue: The information printed on the Compliance label and Tire Placard are incorrect. The information is for ST225/75/R15 Load Range E tires with 80 PSI (552 KPA). The label should list ST225/75/R15 Load Range D tires with 65 PSI (448 KPA). Safety Risk: Using a tire that is overinflated or of the wrong load rating could cause a tire failure or poor towing/driving performance. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Corrected labels will be mailed to owners. If an owner is not comfortable installing the labels, a Heartland dealer can install them.

  On certain travel trailers, the axle bearings may not have been properly installed. This could cause the bearings to overheat and fail, potentially resulting in wheel separation. A wheel separating from the vehicle could cause a loss of control and a crash. In addition, the wheel assembly could strike another vehicle, stationary object, or bystander, causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will repair or replace the axle hubs and bearings as necessary.

  On certain travel trailers equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly.   On certain travel trailers, the electric brake wiring may have been routed too close to the center spring hanger of the axles. This could cause the wiring to catch or chafe against the spring hanger, and sever the wire. If the brake wire were to be severed for one of the axles, braking would be lost on that axle, which would increase stopping distances, and increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will relocate and clamp the wires out of the travel of the spring hanger and shackle.

  Certain vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 110 or 120 - Tire Selection and Rims. The certification label may contain incorrect recommended tire size and tire pressure information. This could lead to tire under inflation and/or vehicle overloading, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will apply a revised label if necessary. Note: Although the information on the vehicle labels may be incorrect, tires of the correct size and rating were installed on the affected trailers.

  Certain fifth wheel and travel trailers originally equipped with spoke or modular design steel wheels may have poor weld quality between the wheel center disk and outer rim. The wheels which have a six (6) hole bolt pattern were manufactured by Xingmin Wheel and bear the rim stamp "07 10 06 Z" or "08 10 16 B" on the back side of the rim. The poor weld could cause the outer rim portion of the wheel to fail. A wheel separating from the vehicle could cause a loss of control and a crash. In addition, the errant wheel assembly could strike a vehicle, property, or a bystander. Both problems could cause property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect the wheels for the specific rim identification markings and replace as necessary.

  Certain travel trailers were manufactured with incorrect axle information printed on the compliance label. The actual axle rating (GAWR) is 5,080lbs is listed as 5,200lbs on the label. Towing a vehicle with overloaded axles may result in axle failure, which could lead to a loss of control and a crash causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Labels will be replaced by the new labels with corrected information.
