Issue: On certain RV trailers, the wire connections on the power transfer switch may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the connections could loosen and create electrical arcing (sparks) or cause wires to overheat. Safety Risk: Overheated wiring or sparks could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Heartland will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealer to inspect and tighten the wire connections within the transfer switch box, as required.

Issue: On certain travel trailers, the front landing legs may not be properly supported. As a result, the legs could buckle and cause the front of the trailer to drop while it is parked. Safety Risk: A trailer that drops suddenly could create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Heartland RV will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealer to install a jack bracket to reinforce the front landing legs.

U.S. NHTSA recalls

Heartland Recreational Vehicles, LLC (Heartland) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Heartland Cyclone and 2019-2021 Road Warrior Toy Hauler recreational trailers. The transfer switch wire securement lugs may have been improperly tightened during production, causing the wires to come loose.
Risk: Loose wires can cause electrical arcing, increasing the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and tighten the securement lugs, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 16, 2021. Owners may contact Heartland customer service at 1-877-262-8032.

Heartland Recreational Vehicles, LLC (Heartland) is recalling certain 2019-2021 Cyclone and 2020-2021 Bighorn Traveler, and Elkridge recreational trailers. Due to insufficient bracing, the front landing legs may buckle and collapse while the trailer is parked.
Risk: If the landing legs buckle, the trailer will drop unexpectedly, increasing the risk of property damage, personal injury or death.
Remedy: Heartland will notify owners, and dealers will install a jack bracket to reinforce the landing legs, free of charge. The recall began October 9, 2020. Owners may contact Heartland customer service at 1-877-262-8032.
