    Issue: On certain trailers, the cover for the electronic control unit of the antilock brake system (ABS) may not have been properly tightened. As a result, the cover could loosen and cause a loss of trailer service brakes. Safety Risk: A loss of trailer brakes could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Great Dane will notify owners by mail and instruct you to check the ABS valve serial number to confirm if your valve needs replacement. If your valve does require replacement Great Dane will replace the iABS valve at Great Dane dealer or authorized repair center.

  • SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC#21V841000

    Great Dane Trailers (Great Dane) is recalling certain 2020-2022 Everest, Champion, and Freedom trailers. The screws that secure the bracket cover and end cover of the iABS unit may have been improperly tightened, which can allow the screws to loosen and back out, resulting in a loss of pressure in the unit.

    Risk: Pressure loss in the iABS unit can cause a loss of brake function, increasing the risk of a crash.

    Remedy: Dealers will inspect the iABS unit serial number, and replace if serial number is on the list, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 23, 2021. Owners may contact Great Dane customer service at 1-877-369-3493.

  • SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK/TRACTION CONTROL/ELECTRONIC LIMITED SLIP:CONTROL UNIT/MODULE#21V094000

    Great Dane Trailers (Great Dane) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Champion and 2022 Everest trailers equipped with the WABCO 2S/2M iABS (Anti-Lock Brake) system. The iABS sensor cables may be plugged into the wrong ports on the electronic control unit (ECU).

    Risk: If the sensor cables are installed incorrectly, the anti-lock brake system may malfunction, increasing the risk of a crash.

    Remedy: Great Dane will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the routing of the iABS sensor cables and correct them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on March 22, 2021. Owners may contact Great Dane customer service at 1-877-369-3493.
