Issue: On certain RV trailers, the U-bolts that attach the axles to the suspension may not have been properly tightened. As a result, an axle could slide back on the leaf spring. This could cause poor handling and lead to a loss of control. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall nos. 2023-395 and 2024-164. RV trailers that were repaired under those recalls also require this repair. Safety Risk: A loss of control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Grand Design RV will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development.

This recall was replaced by Transport Canada recall no. 2026-030. Issue: On certain RV trailers, the U-bolts that attach the axles to the suspension may not be properly tightened. As a result, an axle could slide back on the spring. This could cause poor handling and lead to a loss of control. Safety Risk: A loss of control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Grand Design RV will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your trailer to a dealership to inspect the leaf springs. They will be repaired or replaced, as necessary.

Issue: On certain RV trailers, a power wire behind the refrigerator may be secured incorrectly. Over time, the wire could move and contact the refrigerator cooling unit. This could damage the wire and cause electrical arcing. Safety Risk: Electrical arcing could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Grand Design RV will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealer to inspect the 110-V wire in the refrigerator cavity. The wire will be replaced or secured, as necessary.

Issue: On certain travel trailers, the rubber propane gas line may not be properly secured and could contact the refrigerator burner tube. As a result, the rubber line could melt and cause a gas leak. Safety Risk: A propane gas leak could create the risk of an explosion or fire. Corrective Actions: Grand Design RV will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealer inspect the propane lines in the refrigerator compartment. Any lines showing damage will be replaced and routed away from the burner tube of the refrigerator. Dealers will also wrap the propane line with a heat resistant foil in the area near the burner tube.
