  Issue: On certain trucks, the repairs completed by a General Motors dealer during recall N192220470 (Transport Canada recall no. 2019-325) or customer satisfaction program no. N192270330 may not have been completed properly. As a result, a second repair is required. Additionally, certain trucks may not have had the updated parts installed during production. On certain trucks equipped with a power sliding rear window, the rear defroster wiring could overheat and melt. Safety Risk: Wiring that overheats and melts can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: General Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to replace the contact cover for the sliding rear window. The dealer will also update the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) software, if necessary. If the rear window or sliding glass assembly are damaged, they will be replaced.

If this happens, the end cap from the inflator or other parts could be propelled into the vehicle and strike a person. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada Recall No. 2020-576. Safety Risk: A metal end cap or other parts that strike a person could create a risk of injury. Corrective Action: General Motors will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to replace both side curtain airbags.

  Issue: On certain vehicles, the flexible steel cable that connects the seat belt to the outboard side of the driver's seat may have been replaced with an incorrect part during a previous repair. Over time, this cable could flex and may eventually break. If this happens, the seat belt could detach in a crash. Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles that had the driver's seat belt pretensioner replaced after a previous recall repair (recall 2016-153 or 2018-233). Safety Risk: A seat belt that detaches in a crash could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: General Motors will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the driver's outboard seat belt pretensioner assembly.

  Issue: On certain vehicles, there may be an error in the electronic-brake control module software. This could cause the driveline-protection system to activate when a wheel-speed sensor fails. If this happens, the brakes could apply and cause the vehicle to pull to one side. Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with four-wheel drive, a 5.3-L engine, and a 3.08 ratio rear axle. The problem can only occur when the vehicle is in four-wheel drive or automatic mode, and travelling at a speed between 66 and 97 km/h (41 and 60 mph). A wheel-speed sensor failure will cause the electronic stability control (ESC) and anti-lock braking system (ABS) warning lights to turn on, and a "Service StabiliTrak" message to display. Safety Risk: A vehicle that suddenly pulls to one side could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: General Motors will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the electronic-brake control module software. General Motors advises that using two-wheel-drive mode can eliminate the risk until the recall repair is completed.

  Issue: This recall is for aftermarket replacement rear window glass produced by Vitro Automotriz. Certain rear window glass may not have been properly tempered. If the window breaks, the glass may separate into large pieces instead of very small ones. Note: This is a voluntary recall that is not being conducted under the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Safety Risk: Glass that breaks in to large pieces could create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: The company will notify consumers by mail and instruct them to inspect the designation code marked on the rear window glass. Products affected by this recall have the designation “DOT 287” along with the lettering “VMR” (Replacement Market) and a date code that is before July 2019.   Certain vehicles may experience a temporary loss of electric power steering (EPS) assist followed by a sudden return of EPS assist, particularly during low-speed turning manoeuvres due to an electrical/software issue. If EPS assist is lost and suddenly returned, the unexpected change in steering effort could affect vehicle control, which would increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will update the EPS module software. Note: If power steering assist is lost and the vehicle reverts to manual steering, a dash message would be displayed stating there is an EPS problem. Additionally, this issue could also affect radio, stabilitrak, the driver information centre, chime, door-lock, air conditioning, and/or cruise control function.

  Certain Heavy Duty and Police/Special Service vehicles may not have been repaired properly under Recall 2016-053 (GM #20760). The brake pedal pivot nut may become loose, causing the brake pedal to be loose or inoperative. If this happens, a driver may be unable to safely stop the vehicle or the brake pedal may interfere with the accelerator pedal. Both of these situations could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will add adhesive to the pivot nut and will reinstall it at an increased torque. Note: This condition may result in the "Service Engine Soon" light illuminating, and brake lights may stay on longer than expected.

  On certain vehicles equipped with gasoline engines and dual fuel tanks, the fuel level sensor in the front tank could become stuck in the low level position, causing the rear tank to overfill the front tank. If this occurs, the front tank could expand and come in contact with the moving drive shaft which, over time, could create a hole in the front tank and cause a fuel leak. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the rear tank fuel pump module or flash the vehicle software. Dealers will also inspect the front tank for damage and replace it as necessary.

Correction: Dealers will inspect the pivot bolt installation to determine whether the vehicle has already received the production remedy. If not, the dealer will add adhesive to the nut, and reinstall the nut at an increased torque. Note: This condition may result in the "Service Engine Soon" light illuminating, and brake lights may stay on longer than expected.

  On certain vehicles, a defect in the ignition lock actuator may make turning the ignition key difficult or cause the key to get stuck in the “start” position. This may be more likely to occur at higher interior ambient temperatures. If the vehicle is driven with the key stuck in the “start” position, and the vehicle experiences a significant jarring event or the vehicle’s interior temperature cools, the ignition key could move out of the “start” position, rotate past the “run” position, and move into the “accessory” position, causing the engine to shut off. This would result in a loss of motive power and affect power steering and power brake system function, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. The timing of the key movement out of the “run” position, relative to the activation of the sensing algorithm in a crash event, may also result in the airbags not deploying in a subsequent collision, increasing the risk of injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the ignition lock housing.

If the power steering assist is lost, a message is displayed on the Driver Information Centre and a chime sounds to inform the driver. Steering control can be maintained, as the vehicle will revert to a manual steering mode, but will require greater driver effort particularly at low vehicle speeds. The sudden change in steering may increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will replace the power steering assist motor.

  Certain vehicles equipped with an Automatic Transfer Case may have a condition in which an electric signal short may cause the transfer case to switch to neutral without operator input. The transfer case mode selection knob would still indicate the last selected drive mode, but the driver would not have any feedback that the transfer case is in neutral. If the transfer case switches to neutral while the vehicle is in motion, the driver would experience a loss of motive power and, if the vehicle is parked without the parking brake applied, the vehicle could roll away. Both scenarios could result in a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will re-program the software of the Transfer Case Control Module.

  Certain vehicles equipped with a base radio and internal amplifier may fail to conform to Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 114 - Theft Protection and Rollaway Protection, and CMVSS 208 - Occupant Crash Protection. The radio may become inoperative, causing a no-chime condition and disabling the audible warning if the key is in the ignition and the driver’s door is opened, or if a front outboard seat belt is not buckled. A loss of the seat belt audible warning may increase the likelihood of a front outboard occupant being unbelted, increasing the risk of injury in a crash. Similarly, the loss of an audible warning when a key is left in the ignition may increase the risk of vehicle theft. Correction: Dealers are to program the radio with updated software.

  On certain HD vehicles equipped with a diesel engine and dual fuel tanks, the fuel pipe tube nuts on each side of the diesel fuel transfer pump may not have been properly torqued. As a result, diesel fuel may leak at the fuel transfer pump if there is fuel in the rear tank and the transfer pump activates to transfer fuel to the forward fuel tank. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire causing property damage and/or injury. Correction: Dealers will tighten the tube nuts to the proper torque.

  General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Chevrolet Silverado HD diesel vehicles manufactured September 30, 2014, to October 21, 2014, and GMC Sierra HD diesel vehicles manufactured October 8, 2014, to October 21, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the hose clamp that secures the fuel tank vent line may not have been properly tightened during assembly.

  Risk: A loose hose clamp could allow the fuel tank vent line to detach which may result in a fuel leak, increasing the risk of a fire.

  Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and tighten the fuel tank vent line hose clamp, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on February 6, 2015.   General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 3500 HD vehicles manufactured October 1, 2013 to September 20, 2014, and 2015 GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 HD vehicles manufactured September 30, 2013, to September 20, 2014. The power steering hose clamp may disconnect from the power steering pump or gear, causing a loss of power steering fluid.

  Risk: A loss of power steering fluid could result in a loss of power steering assist and power brake assist, increasing the risk of a crash.

  Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the vehicles to make sure the power steering hose clamps are properly secured, free of charge. The recall began on August 29, 2014. • ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE#14V301000June 6, 2014

  General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, and 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban vehicles equipped with a base radio and an internal amplifier. The radios in the affected vehicles may become inoperative, and as a result, there would be no audible chime to notify the driver if the door is opened with the key in the ignition or no audible seat belt warning indicating the seat belts were not buckled. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention," and 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

  Risk: Without an audible indicator, the driver may not be aware that the driver's door is open while the key is in the ignition, increasing the risk of a vehicle rollaway. Additionally, there would be no reminder that the driver's or front seat passenger's seat belt is not buckled, which could increase the risk of injury in a crash.

  Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will update the radio software, free of charge. The recall began on July 2, 2014. Chevrolet owners may contact GM's customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GMC owners may contact GM's customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 14315.

• ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING:FUSES AND CIRCUIT BREAKERS#14V265000May 20, 2014

  General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Chevrolet Silverado HD vehicles manufactured January 8, 2014, through February 27, 2014, and 2015 GMC Sierra HD vehicles manufactured January 9, 2014, through February 14, 2014, and equipped with a 220 Amp Generator (RPO KW5). In the affected vehicles, the retention clips that attach the fuse block to the vehicle body can become loose allowing the fuse block to move out of position. If this occurs, exposed conductors in the fuse block may contact the mounting studs or other metallic components, causing a short to ground event.

  Risk: This could result in an arcing condition, and combustible materials located nearby could ignite and result in an engine compartment fire.

  Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the fuse block to verify that it is properly secured, repairing it as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on July 30, 2014. • FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL#14V213000April 25, 2014

  General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Chevrolet Silverado HD, and GMC Sierra HD vehicles manufactured February 11, 2014, through February 19, 2014, and equipped with diesel engines and dual fuel tanks. In the affected vehicles, the fuel pipe connections on both sides of the diesel fuel transfer pump may not be properly torqued which may result in a diesel fuel leak.

  Risk: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may result in a vehicle fire.

  Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will tighten the fuel pipe connections to the proper torque. The recall began on May 29, 2014. Owners may contact General Motors customer service at 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet), 1-800-462-8782 (GMC). General Motors' number for this recall is 14067.
