Transport Canada recalls

01
  • Seats And Restraints#2015595

    11 units affected

Certain vehicles may not comply with Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 209 - Seat Belt Assemblies. The retraction mechanisms of the seat belts may have been damaged when the seat belt was manufactured, which could cause them to fail and not allow the belt(s) to extend or retract. Failure of the seatbelt to restrain the seat occupant as intended would increase the risk of personal injury during a crash. Correction: Dealers will replace the seat belt assemblies.

U.S. NHTSA recalls

01
  • SEAT BELTS#15V820000

Polaris Industries, Inc. (Polaris) is recalling certain model year 2015 GEM EL, ES, E4, E4S, ELXD, E6, E6S, and E2 vehicles manufactured December 15, 2014, to August 25, 2015. The seat belts in the affected vehicles have retractor mechanisms that may fail, causing the seat belt to be stuck in one position. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies."

Risk: If the seat belt does not retract or extend, the seat occupant may not be properly secured in the event of a crash, increasing their risk of injury.

Remedy: GEM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the seat belt assemblies, free of charge. The recall began on December 31, 2015. Owners may contact GEM Consumer Service Department at 1-855-743-3436. Polaris' number for this recall is L-15-02.
