The corrective actions for this recall are under development. You will be instructed to bring your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility when a repair is available.

  Issue: On certain trucks, the retaining clip on the transmission oil cooler line may fail. If this happens, the cooler line could detach from the radiator. This can result in a transmission fluid leak. Safety Risk: A transmission fluid leak could create a hazard for others by making the road slippery. Corrective Actions: Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect and repair the transmission fluid cooler lines connections on the radiator tank.

  Issue: On certain trucks, the engine wire harness could be damaged by contact with various locations around the air compressor and the frame rail. If this happens, the engine could stall and you may not be able to restart it. Note: This recall only affects trucks built with a Detroit DD5 engine. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect the clearance between the wire harness and engine, and to check for any damage to the wiring. If the wire harness is damaged, it will be replaced with a new harness that has a severe duty wrap and additional hardware for routing.

  Issue: On certain trucks equipped with "Fleet Engineer" mud flaps, the bracket for the mud flaps may partially cover the rear reflective tape. Canadian regulations require that reflective tape must be visible on the rear of the truck. Safety Risk: Reflective tape that is covered may make the truck less visible to others and could create an increased risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Trucks of North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to an authorized DTNA Service Facility to inspect the reflective tape. It will be moved as necessary to meet the regulations.

  Issue: On certain trucks equipped with electronic stability control (ESC), the brake lights may turn on when the automatic traction control (ATC) activates. Canadian regulations do not allow brake lights to turn on when the automatic traction control activates. Safety Risk: Brake lights that turn on when a vehicle is not slowing could confuse other drivers. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their truck to a Daimler Trucks North America authorized service facility. The truck will either be reprogrammed or retrofitted so the brake lights do not turn on when the automatic traction control (ATC) activates.

  On certain vehicles equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly.   Certain vehicles equipped with certain instrument clusters may not comply with Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 101 - Controls and Displays and CMVSS 105 - Brake Systems. The ISO symbol for parking brake applied illuminates if there is a brake malfunction instead of the required brake malfunction ISO symbol, which is contrary to the requirements of the standard. If the incorrect ISO symbol is illuminated, the operator may not be aware that there is a brake malfunction that could lead to a reduction or loss of braking, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Daimler Trucks North America-authorized service facilities will replace the dash cluster with a new dash cluster that display the correct brake ISO symbols.

  On certain vehicles, the required check valve may not have been installed in one of the ports of the spring brake modulation valve. In the event of a rapid loss of air pressure in the secondary system, the missing check valve could cause a similar rapid loss of pressure in the primary system, which may lead to a sudden application of the parking brakes. This could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Daimler Trucks North America authorized service facilities will inspect and the check valve will be installed if needed.

  On certain vehicles outfitted with a dual display instrument cluster option that have the right hand display installed by Fontaine Modification, there could be hardware and software incompatibilities between the two displays. This may result in the the left hand display of the dash cluster to become unresponsive, which could cause a loss of turn signal function. As a result, drivers may not be able to clearly signal their intentions to turn and/or change lanes, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Daimler Trucks North America service facilities will replace the left hand dash cluster with a new cluster that is compatible with the right hand cluster installed by Fontaine Modification.

  Certain vehicles equipped with Goodyear G399A LHS LR G tires on the front steering axles, the tires may not have been cured properly during the manufacturing process. This could cause the tires to have incomplete adhesion, which could lead to partial tread separation and/or tire failure. If the tread were to separate while a vehicle is in motion, it could cause a loss of vehicle control, which would increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Goodyear dealers will inspect and replace the tires as necessary.

This could result in the caliper bolts loosening, which could lead to the caliper detaching. Insufficiently torqued fasteners may not provide adequate clamping force between the brake caliper and brake anchor plate potentially resulting in reduced brake effectiveness, which would result in increased stopping distances, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.   Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2015-2020 Freightliner Business Class M2 emergency vehicles equipped with certain Cummins diesel engines. The engine protection and inducement software may cause the engine to shut down unexpectedly.

  Risk: An unexpected engine shutdown can delay emergency responders and increase the risk of injury.

  Remedy: Cummins will update the electronic control module software and install a corrected data plate, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 5, 2025. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is F1012.

• EXTERIOR LIGHTING#21V484000June 24, 2021

  Mickey Truck Bodies, Inc. (Mickey Truck) is recalling certain 2017 Freightliner M2, M2-106, International 4300, and 2018 Peterbilt 220 vehicles equipped with certain model lift gates that contain a license plate kit with part number 298872-01. The light kit does not properly illuminate the license plate, shining rearward, instead of downward as intended.

  Risk: The improper lighting may confuse other drivers on the road, increasing the risk of a crash.

  Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2014-2019 Freightliner Business Class M2 vehicles. The retaining clip that connects the transmission oil cooler line to the in-tank oil cooler may fail, possibly resulting in a transmission fluid leak.

  Risk: If a rapid loss of transmission fluid occurs while driving, it could result in a road hazard for other motorists, increasing the risk of a crash.

  Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2017-2021 Freightliner Business Class M2 trucks. The engine harness may contact and chafe at various locations around the air compressor and the frame rail. If the wires are damaged, they may short circuit, possibly causing an engine stall.

  Risk: A engine stall may increase the risk of a crash.

  Remedy: DTNA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect for adequate clearance between harness and engine, and for any engine harness damage. Vehicles with a damaged harness will receive a new harness. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began October 5, 2020.   Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2006-2020 Freightliner Columbia, 2006-2021 Freightliner Business Class M2, 2007-2020 Freightliner Coronado, 2014-2021 Freightliner 122 SD, 2007 Sterling A 9500, 2006 Freightliner Argosy, 2006-2007 Sterling AT9500, 2008-2021 Freightliner Cascadia, 2006-2008 Freightliner Classic, 2006-2011 Freightliner Century Class, 2006-2010 Freightliner FLD, and 2017 Western Star 5700 vehicles. The rear reflective tape may be partially covered by the mudflap hanger bracket, which may reduce the vehicle's visibility to other drivers on the road. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

  Risk: The vehicle's rearward visibility may be reduced, increasing the risk of a crash.

  Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2017-2019 Freightliner 114SD, 122SD, 108SD, Cascadia and Business class M2 trucks, Freightliner Custom Chassis XBS, XCL, XCM, MT45, MT55, S2G, S2RV, XCR and XCS custom chassis and Western Star 4700, 4900 and 5700 trucks equipped with Detroit Axle axles. The affected vehicles may have loose steering and tie rod arm bolts.

  Risk: Loose tie rod arm bolts may lead to separation of the tie rod arm, resulting in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

  Remedy: DTNA has notified owners, and dealers will inspect the steering arm and tie rod arm bolts for to make sure that they are properly tightened, installing new fasteners as necessary, free of charge.   Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2017-2019 Freightliner M2 Business Class, 108SD, 114SD and Cascadia trucks, Western Star 4700, 4900, and 5700 trucks, FCCC S2C 106 Cab, S2G Cab, XBR, XBS, XCL, XCM, XCP, XCR, and XCS chassis equipped with air disc brakes. The brake caliper mounting bolts on these vehicles may be insufficiently tightened, allowing the bolts to loosen.

  Risk: If the brake caliper mounting bolts loosen, braking performance may be reduced, increasing the risk of a crash.

  Remedy: DTNA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the brake caliper mounting bolts and tighten them as necessary, free of charge.   Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2016-2019 Freightliner Business Class M2 trucks built with air disk brakes and spring suspension. The rear disk brake calipers may have been mounted in an incorrect orientation allowing the caliper to contact the suspension, reducing brake effectiveness.

  Risk: Reduced braking effectiveness can increase the risk of a crash.

  Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Freightliner M2 Business Class, 108SD, and 114SD vehicles. The affected vehicles might not have a required check valve installed in one of the ports of the spring brake modulation valve. Without the valve, the primary air system is not isolated from the secondary air system.

  Risk: A rapid loss of air pressure in the secondary system could cause a similar rapid loss of pressure in the primary system, which may lead to a sudden application of the parking brakes. This could increase the risk of a crash.

  Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2016-2017 Freightliner Business Class M2, 108SD, and 114SD trucks. The affected trucks have been modified to be equipped with both left hand and right hand instrument clusters. Due to incompatibilities between the displays, the instrument clusters and/or turn signals may become unresponsive.

  Risk: Unresponsive instrument clusters and/or turn signals can increase the risk of a crash.

  Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain model year 2017 Freightliner Cascadia, Business Class M2, and 122SD trucks manufactured January 24, 2016, to October 10, 2016 and equipped with Goodyear G399A LHS 295/75R22.5 Load Range G tires. The tires on the affected vehicles may have cured improperly, possibly resulting in a partial tread separation.

  Risk: Partial tread separation can increase the risk of a crash.

  Remedy: Goodyear will notify the owners of the affected Freightliner vehicles and Goodyear dealers will replace the affected tires, free of charge. The recall began on December 14, 2016.   Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Freightliner Custom Chassis (FCCC) S2 chassis and Freightliner Business Class M2 trucks and non-school buses manufactured March 3, 2015, to September 8, 2016, equipped with ICU3s instrument clusters and hydraulic brakes. In the event of a brake malfunction, these clusters may illuminate the Brake System Malfunction telltale/indicator lamp with the word "PARK" instead of the word "BRAKE". As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101, "Control and Displays," and number 105, "Hydraulic and Electric Brake Systems."

  Risk: If "PARK" illuminates instead of the word "BRAKE," the driver will be unaware of a braking issue or malfunction, increasing the risk of a crash.

  Remedy: DTNA will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ICU3s instrument clusters with new clusters, free of charge. An interim notification letter was sent to owners on November 4, 2016.   Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Freightliner M2 Business Class and 114 SD trucks manufactured March 10, 2015, to July 11, 2016. The brake caliper mounting bolts on the affected vehicles may be incorrectly torqued, allowing the bolts to loosen and detach.

  Risk: If the brake caliper mounting bolts loosen or detach, braking ability may be reduced, increasing the risk of a crash.

  Remedy: DTNA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the brake caliper mounting bolts for the proper torque and tighten them as necessary, free of charge. An interim notice was sent to owners on November 7, 2016. The final remedy is now available. A second notice was mailed to owners on January 26, 2017. • POWER TRAIN:AXLE HUBS#16V634000August 31, 2016

  Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain model year 2014-2017 Freightliner M2 Business Class, 108 SD, 114 SD, Cascadia, Coronado, Western Star 4700, 4800, and 5700 XE trucks manufactured March 15, 2013, to July 29, 2016 and equipped with Conmet aluminum non-high capacity hubs. These vehicles specify a front axle weight limit that may be greater than that of the hub capacity. As a result, the hub may fail and the wheel may separate from the axle.

  Risk: If a wheel separates from the axle, there would be an increased risk of a crash.

  Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain model year 2010-2017 Freightliner M2 Business Class, 108SD, 114SD, and Columbia trucks manufactured from January 6, 2010, through February 29, 2016, equipped with certain Bendix rear disk brakes and spring suspensions. The rear disk brake caliper may have been installed incorrectly, thus allowing the caliper to contact the suspension.

  Risk: Caliper contact with the spring suspension may reduce the braking effectiveness, increasing the risk of a crash.
