Transport Canada recalls

04
  • Electrical#2018438

    762 units affected

On certain travel trailers, the trailer break-away safety switch may not be properly wired. When the battery disconnect is switched off, the electrical power to the switch could be lost. In the unlikely event that the trailer separates from the tow vehicle, the trailer brakes may not apply, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install a new wiring harness which supplies constant power to the break-away safety switch.

  • Accessories#2017610

    61,287 units affected

On certain motorhomes equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. • Structure#2014026

    5 units affected

On certain fifth wheel trailers, the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) indicated on the compliance label may exceed the combined load carrying capacity of the trailer axles as well as the trailer hitch pin box. This could result in tire and axle overloading, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Owners will be sent a revised certification label with the correct GVWR.

  • Other#2013147

    9,526 units affected

On certain fifth wheels, travel trailers and motorhomes, the electrical motor for the awning could become damaged, allowing the awning to unfurl unexpectedly. As a result, the awning could strike another vehicle, a stationary object, or a bystander, causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the awning motor.
