Issue: On certain RV trailers, the axle may have been installed backwards. As a result, the trailer brakes may not work properly. This can cause increased stopping distances and make your vehicle unstable while braking. Safety Risk: Trailer brakes that don't work can increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Forest River will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealership to inspect the installation of the axle. The axle will be reinstalled correctly, if necessary.

Issue: On certain RV trailers and motorhomes, the fabric for the patio awning may not be properly attached. As a result, the awning could detach and fall from the vehicle. Safety Risk: An awning that falls from the vehicle could create a risk of injury. An awning that falls from a moving vehicle could create road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Forest River will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the fabric roll on the awning. It will be repaired or replaced, as necessary.

Issue: On certain RV trailers and motorhomes, the quick disconnect fittings for the propane (LP) gas system may be defective. As a result, the fittings could crack and leak propane. Safety Risk: A propane gas leak could create the risk of a fire or explosion. Corrective Actions: Forest River will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your RV trailer or motorhome to a dealership to replace the quick disconnect fittings on the propane system and perform a leak test.

Issue: Certain fifth wheel RV trailers may have been built with a pin box rated for 4536 kg (10,000 lb.), when they should have one that is rated for 7257 kg (16,000 lb.). As a result, the pin box could be overloaded and fail. Safety Risk: A pin box that fails could cause a trailer to detach from the tow vehicle and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Forest River will notify owners by mail and instruct you to send them a picture of the pin box on your trailer. Forest River will review the photograph and advise you if the pin box requires replacement. You will be given the option of using a mobile repair service or taking the trailer to a dealer to replace it.

Issue: On certain travel trailers or motorhomes equipped with frameless windows, the glass may not be properly attached to the metal hinges. As a result, the glass could separate from the hinge and fall from the trailer. Safety Risk: A window that detaches from the trailer could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Forest river will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your travel trailer or motorhome to a dealer to inspect the adhesive bonding on the window glass. Dealers will replace the glass, if necessary.

Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to have improved latch fasteners installed.

If the trailer separates from a tow vehicle, the trailer brakes would not self-apply. Safety Risk: If the trailer breakaway switch does not work properly, there could be an increased risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to install a new wiring harness for the breakaway safety switch.

This could result in water entering the internal circuitry of the touch pad, potentially causing unintended extension or retraction of the power tongue jack. If this were to occur while the vehicle was in motion, it could result in loss of control and increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the "Smart Jack" power tongue jack assembly with an updated version with improved water protection.

Under certain circumstances, the tire could come in contact with the slide mounting head, which could lead to tire failure resulting in a loss of vehicle control increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install a lift kit between the axle(s) and the chassis in order to elevate the slide room away from the tire.

If the vehicle is not pulled level, or the suspension is loaded unequally, there is a risk the tire will contact the slide mounting head, which could cause rapid air loss and/or tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will install a new slide mounting bracket to ensure proper clearance from the driver’s side front tire

If the foam insulation or wiring were to come into contact with the heating element, it could melt, and could potentially result in a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect and ensure that the foam insulation and wiring are secured away from the heating element.

This could result in a blow out which could lead to a crash, resulting in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will install a lift kit between the frame and the axle mounting brackets to increase clearance between the tires and floor.

On certain travel trailers, the Certification label and the Tire and Loading Information label do not contain correct tire pressure information. The labels incorrectly indicate the tires ST225/75R15C, be inflated to a pressure of 65 psi, but instead should read 50 psi. Improper tire pressure can lead to tire failure which, in turn, can result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Updated labels will be mailed dealers or to owners of affected vehicles, along with instructions for proper installation.
