Transport Canada recalls

  • Electrical#2026005

    138,783 units affected

Issue: On certain vehicles, the engine block heater could leak coolant. If this happens, the block heater could short circuit when it's plugged in. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2025-554. Vehicles that were repaired under that recall don't require this repair. Safety Risk: A short circuit can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Ford advises you not to use the engine block heater until the recall repairs have been completed. Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the block heater. Alternatively, owners can choose to have the dealership permanently disable the engine block heater.

  • Electrical#2025554

    128,886 units affected

This recall was replaced by Transport Canada recall no. 2026-005. Issue: On certain vehicles, the engine block heater could leak coolant. If this happens, the block heater could short circuit when it's plugged in.

  • Visual System#2025360

    16,575 units affected

Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the vehicle is reversing. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the SYNC software.

  • Label#2023308

    3,074 units affected

Issue: On certain vehicles, the tire and loading information label lists the wrong maximum weight of occupants and cargo. Specifically, for Bronco and Super Duty models, the cargo capacity (payload) may have been calculated incorrectly. For the Ranger models, the weight of vehicle options may have been entered incorrectly. As a result, the vehicle could be overloaded. Canadian regulations require companies to print the maximum weight of occupants and cargo on the tire and loading information label. Safety Risk: Incorrect information about the vehicle's weight capacity could lead to overloading and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will mail a new tire and loading information label to each owner. If you would like help to install it, you can contact a Ford dealer to have it installed free of charge.

  • Fuel System#2022522

    12 units affected

Issue: On certain vehicles equipped with a 2.3 L engine, the fuel line connections between the fuel pump and fuel rail may not have been tightened properly. As a result, fuel could leak. Safety Risk: A fuel leak can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the fuel line assembly.

  • Structure#2022335

    4,294 units affected

Issue: On certain vehicles, the windshield may not be properly attached. As a result, the glass can become loose and could separate from the vehicle in a crash. Safety Risk: A windshield that detaches in a crash could create an increased risk of injury. Corrective Action: Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to remove and reinstall the windshield. The dealer will also recalibrate the front camera, if necessary.
