Safety Risk: A parked vehicle that rolls away could create the risk of an injury or a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect the transmission. If metal fragments are found, the transmission will be replaced. If no metal is found, the valve body and extension housing will be replaced.

Safety Risk: If a person touches a hot floor or seat bolts, there could be a risk of a burn injury. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to install the missing underbody heat shield, thermal insulator patch under the floor mat, seat base covers, and seat bolt covers.

  Issue: This recall is for aftermarket replacement rear window glass produced by Vitro Automotriz. Certain rear window glass may not have been properly tempered. If the window breaks, the glass may separate into large pieces instead of very small ones. Note: This is a voluntary recall that is not being conducted under the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Safety Risk: Glass that breaks in to large pieces could create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: The company will notify consumers by mail and instruct them to inspect the designation code marked on the rear window glass. Products affected by this recall have the designation “DOT 287” along with the lettering “VMR” (Replacement Market) and a date code that is before July 2019.   On certain vehicles, a clip that locks the gear shift cable to the transmission may not be fully seated. Over time, this could allow the transmission to be in a gear state different than the gear shift position selected by the driver. This condition could allow the driver to move the shifter to Park and remove the ignition key while the transmission gear may not be in Park. If the parking brake is not applied, this could result in unintended vehicle movement, which would increase the risk of crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the shift cable locking clip and reseat it as necessary.

An air leak in the rear service brake line could affect rear service brake performance, potentially resulting in a loss of rear service brake function. The floor attachment locations for the 70% front passenger and center seat belt anchorages are outside of the parameters specified by the Standard. An improperly positioned seat belt anchorage may reduce the seat belt’s ability to properly restrain the occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of personal injury. Correction: Dealers will install safety restraint anchorage point relocation bracket kits.

Also, in certain low traction conditions, unexpected brake application can cause a loss of vehicle control and a crash. These issues could result in property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will update the cover assembly on the ATR valves.

A driver who is unaware that the trailer ABS is not functioning could lose control of the trailer under hard braking, which could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the ABS module.

  On certain vehicles, grease in the S-cam lubrication tube of the front and rear axle assemblies was omitted during vehicle assembly. If the S-cam is not lubricated, corrosion may develop over time, which may restrict release of the service brake at the affected wheel and may result in excessive brake temperatures and possibly longer stopping distances. Longer stopping distances could result in a crash causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will add lubrication to the S-cam lubrication tube and will inspect the S-cam operations.
