When the ignition is turned off, with the driver door closed, the message and chime to warn that the transmission is not in Park are only active for 3 seconds. Instead, the chime should sound for 10 seconds and the message should display for 30 minutes. As a result, a driver could exit the vehicle without realizing that the transmission is not in Park. If this happens, the vehicle could roll away. Safety Risk: Unintended vehicle movement could increase the risk of injury and/or a crash.
