Transport Canada recalls

02
  • Label#2013160

    44 units affected

On certain motorhomes, the Compliance label does not contain correct tire information. The label incorrectly indicates 245/70R19.5F tires with 655 kPa (95 psi) tire pressure and 19.5 x 6.75 rims, instead of 235/80R22.5G tires with 620 kPa (90 psi) tire pressure and 22.5 x 7.50 rims. As a result, the tires may be under-inflated, or the vehicle may inadvertently be fitted with incorrect replacement tires and wheels. Overloaded tires may lead to poor vehicle handling characteristics, which could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Updated labels will be mailed to owners of affected vehicles, along with instructions for proper installation.

  • Other#2012088

    266 units affected

On certain motorhomes, the cable for the transmission range indicator "PRND321" on the instrument cluster may be damaged by a sharp edge on the shift lever arm. If the indicator cable is cut, the indicator will remain in the "1" position (first gear) regardless of what gear is actually selected. With no gear indication, the operator may inadvertently select an incorrect gear, increasing the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Ford dealers will replace the transmission selector arm and indicator assembly.

  • EQUIPMENT:OTHER:LABELS#13V007000

Fleetwood RV is recalling certain model year 2012 and 2013 Bounder Classic model 30T motorhomes manufactured from February 17, 2012, through November 30, 2012. The Federal Certification Tag information relating to front and rear tires is incorrect. Due to the inaccurate label, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Part 567, "Certification."

Risk: Owners relying on the information provided on the label may incorrectly inflate their tires, which could contribute to a tire failure that could cause a crash.

Remedy: Fleetwood RV will mail new federal certification tags to owners. Owners who are not comfortable installing these labels may have them replaced at a dealer, free of charge. The safety recall began on January 31, 2013. Owners may contact Fleetwood RV Owner Relations at 1-800-509-3418.
