Transport Canada recalls

04
  • Lights And Instruments#2026268

    9 units affected

Issue: On a small number of motorhomes, the taillight warning light may turn on even when the taillights are working properly. As a result, the motorhomes don't meet certain requirements of Canadian regulations. Safety Risk: A taillight warning light that doesn't work properly could cause confusion and make the driver unaware if the taillights are working correctly. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Jayco will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your motorhome to a dealership to replace the taillight harness.

  • Electrical#2023392

    3 units affected

Issue: On a small number of motorhomes, in certain conditions, the connection between the fuse and fuse mount for the blower motor could overheat. Safety Risk: A fuse and wiring that overheats could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Jayco will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to a Mercedes-Benz dealership to replace and relocate the blower motor fuse and its wiring. To reduce the safety risk, Mercedes-Benz recommends that you should only operate the blower in manual mode, and not use either the highest or lowest temperature settings until the recall repairs have been completed.

  • Airbag#2020367

    113 units affected

Issue: On certain motorhomes equipped with front swivel-seats, the wiring harness under the seat may not be properly secured. As a result, the wiring harness could be damaged when the seat is moved. If this happens, the side airbag may not work properly in a crash. It could also cause the side airbag to deploy suddenly without a crash. Note: If the wiring to the side airbag is damaged, the SRS light will stay on in the instrument cluster. Safety Risk: An airbag that does not work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the routing of the seat wiring harness. The dealer will add clips or cable ties to properly secure the wiring harness to the seat, if necessary.

  • Structure#2019596

    45 units affected

Issue: On certain motorhomes, the hangers that secure the propane tank may have been manufactured incorrectly and could fail. As a result, the propane tank could detach and fall under the motorhome while driving. Safety Risk: A propane tank that detaches from the motorhome could create a road hazard for others and could result in a fire or explosion. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to a dealer to install an improved support bracket on each side of the propane tank. You are advised to not fill the propane tank beyond 50% until the repairs are completed.
