Issue: On certain RV trailers, the exterior sidewall metal panel(s) may not be properly attached. As a result, the sidewall metal panel(s) could become loose and detach from the trailer while being towed. Safety Risk: Sidewall metal that detaches from the trailer could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Keystone advises that if any sidewall metal is loose, to re-secure it before towing. Keystone will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your trailer to a dealership to add additional support to any loose sidewall metal panel(s).

Issue: On certain RV trailers, the axle could become damaged by contact with the frame. If this happens, there could be a loss of control. Safety Risk: A loss of control could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Keystone will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your trailer to a dealership to replace the axle equalizers. To reduce the safety risk, Keystone recommends that you should limit the towing of your trailer until the recall repairs are completed.

Issue: On certain RV trailers, the circuit board for the LED light rings on the cooktop knobs could fail. As a result, the wiring and/or LED lights could overheat and melt. Note: This recall only affects RV trailers equipped with certain Suburban cooktops. Safety Risk: Wiring and/or lights that overheat and melt can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Keystone will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your trailer to a dealership to disable or remove the LED light rings. To reduce the safety risk, Keystone recommends that you should disconnect the power for your trailer when it's not used and not to use the cooktop until the recall repairs are completed.

Issue: On certain travel trailers, the burners for inside kitchen cooktop may overheat during furnace operation. This could result in the cooktop surface becoming extremely hot. Safety Risk: A hot surface could increase the risk of injury and could create the risk of fire. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to replace the inside kitchen cooktop.

On certain travel trailers equipped with a Norcold N306 mini refrigerator, the gas valve test port screw may be loose or missing. If the refrigerator was to be used on “Gas mode” and test port screw is loose or missing, propane gas could leak from the gas valve, which in the presence of an ignition source, could lead to a fire and/or an explosion, increasing the risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will tighten the valve test port screw, or if the screw is missing, install one.

On certain vehicles equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. On certain travel trailers, the propane hose inside the cooktop may suffer heat damage and melt. This could result in a propane gas leak which, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire or an explosion, causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the rubber propane hose with a copper line.

On certain travel trailers, the furnace exhaust vent may not have been installed during vehicle assembly. If the furnace is operated without exhaust ventilation, carbon monoxide will vent inside the trailer, which could result in asphyxiation or carbon monoxide poisoning. The heat build-up from the exhaust can also result in a fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect to ensure the furnace exhaust vent is present and correctly installed. If the vent was omitted, it will be added.
