04- Brakes#2021274
1,037 units affected
Issue: On certain motorcycles, air may seep into the rear brake system over time. If this happens, there could be reduced rear braking. Safety Risk: Reduced braking could cause an extended stopping distance and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ducati will notify owners by mail and instruct you take your motorcycle to a dealer to install a new rear brake hose.
- Powertrain#2018659
471 units affected
On certain motorcycles, the shift knob may not have been properly attached to the shift lever and could loosen while riding. If this were to occur, an operator may not be able to change gears, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the torque of the shift knob. If the shift knob is loose, the dealer will replace the entire shift lever.
- Structure#2018623
212 units affected
On certain motorcycles, the image in the rearview mirrors could become distorted by vibrations produced by the engine. This could reduce the rider’s rear visibility, which may increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will remove and replace the existing mirrors with new mirrors.
- Fuel System#2018295
208 units affected
On certain motorcycles, the airbox blow-by and fuel tank overfill hoses could melt, as they may be too close to the horizontal exhaust manifold. If a hose melts, it could cause a fuel leak which, in the presence of an ignition source, could increase the risk of fire, causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will re-route the hoses to ensure they are away from the exhaust manifold.
