    Issue: On certain motorcycles, the mounting clamp for the oil cooler hoses could allow the hoses to rub together. If this happens, damage to the hoses could create an oil leak on or near the rear tire. Safety Risk: An oil leak on or near the rear tire could affect control of the motorcycle and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ducati will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to an authorized dealer to install an oil cooler hose spacer.

    Issue: On certain motorcycles, the rear brake pads could separate. This would cause reduced rear braking. Safety Risk: Reduced braking could cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer who will inspect and replace the rear brake pads as necessary.

    Recall update: After the initial notification, Ducati determined that no vehicles with this defect were sold in Canada.<br><br> On certain motorcycles, the friction material on the rear brake pads could separate from the backing plates. This could result in reduced rear brake effectiveness, resulting in extended stopping distances and increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect and replace the rear brake pads as necessary.

U.S. NHTSA recalls

  • ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:OIL/LUBRICATION: OIL COOLER#22V704000

    Ducati North America (Ducati) is recalling certain 2016-2018 Hyperstrada 939, Hypermotard 939, and Hypermotard 939 SP motorcycles. The two oil cooler hoses could contact each other and become damaged, which could cause an oil leak.

    Risk: An oil leak could drip onto the rear tire, and increase the risk of a crash or injury.

    Remedy: Dealers will install an oil cooler hose spacer, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 28, 2022. Owners may contact Ducati customer service at 1-888-391-5446. Ducati's number for this recall is SRV-RCL-22-002.
