Issue: This recall is for certain motorcycles equipped with Ducati Performance accessory soft side bags (part number 96781971AA). The instructions for how to install the right-side soft bag may be unclear. As a result, the bag could contact the exhaust. If this happens while riding, the bag could melt. Safety Risk: A soft bag that melts onto a hot surface can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Ducati will notify owners by mail and advise you not to ride your motorcycle with the side bags attached until the recall repairs are completed. They will also instruct you to take your motorcycle to an authorized dealer to install a frame for the right-side bag. Additionally, Ducati will update the instructions for how to install the side bags.
