Safety Risk: Reduced braking could cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Issue: On certain motorcycles, engine oil could enter the airbox through the crankcase pressure system. In rare cases, this could cause an oil leak near the rear tire. Safety Risk: An oil leak near the rear tire may reduce traction and could cause a loss of control that may result in a crash. Corrective Actions: Ducati will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect the crankcase pressure system. A valve will be installed if necessary.

On certain motorcycles, a crack within the polyphenilene sulphide (PPS) piston of the front brake master cylinder could occur. This could result in the master cylinder to not be able to generate sufficient hydraulic pressure, which could lead to a loss of braking capability of the front brake, increasing stopping distances and increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the PPS piston with one made from aluminum.

Ducati North America (Ducati) is recalling certain 2017 Superleggera motorcycles. The front brake pads may corrode, potentially causing the front brake pads friction material to detach from the backing plate.
Risk: If the front brake pads friction material detaches from the backing plate occurs, the motorcycle may experience increased stopping distance, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Ducati will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front brake pads, free of charge. The recall began June 1, 2020. Owners may contact Ducati customer service at 1-888-391-5446. Ducati's number for this recall is SRV-RCL-20-001.
