  • Accessories#2017623

    617 units affected

On certain travel trailers equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. Note: For more information about recalled fire extinguishers, please visit <a href="https://inmarmarketaction.com/kidde/Kidde284CA/">www.kidde.com</a>.

  • Lights And Instruments#2017316

    579 units affected

Certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. The front side reflex reflector is located approximately 20cm-25cm (8” to 10”) above the maximum height requirement of 152cm (60”) prescribed by the standard. This could reduce vehicle conspicuity which would increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be sent a reflector and instructions for proper placement on the sidewall. If owners are not comfortable installing the reflector themselves, they can take the label to a dealer for installation.

  • Wheels#2012068

    191 units affected

On certain fifth wheel trailers, excessive paint on the wheel hub mounting surface could cause a reduction in wheel stud clamp load. This could cause wheel stud failure, which could result in wheel separation. A wheel separating from the vehicle could cause a loss of control and a crash. In addition, the errant wheel assembly could strike a vehicle, a stationary object, or a bystander. These issues could result in property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will remove the paint from the hub face wheel mounting surface.

  • Electrical#2011185

    9 units affected

On certain fifth wheel trailers, the dimmer switch, which controls interior lighting, can fail and overheat. Overheating of the dimmer switch can result in personal injury or discomfort if an individual touches the dimmer switch during the failure. The switch will not become hot enough to cause a fire. Correction: Dealers will replace the dimmer switch.

  • Label#2011138

    156 units affected

On certain fifth wheel trailers, the Federal Identification Tag does not contain the correct Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR). The label incorrectly indicates a GAWR of 3,632 kg / 8,000 lbs, but instead should read of 3,405 kg / 7,500 lbs. Loading beyond actual GAWR could result in poor vehicle handling characteristics, increasing the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Updated labels will be mailed to owners of affected vehicles, along with instructions for proper installation.
