On certain vehicles equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. On certain toy hauler trailers, the auxiliary fuel tank is mounted higher than the filler point. This may not allow the fuel tank to be filled properly and could result in a fuel spill. Fuel spilt in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the fuel tank mounting brackets to lower the fuel tank position in the vehicle.

On certain fifth wheel trailers equipped with 16 inch aluminium wheels, the decorative center cap does not provide adequate clearance to allow the wheel to fully seat on the hub face. This could allow a wheel to loosen and detach while the vehicle is underway. A wheel separating from the vehicle could cause a loss of control and a crash. In addition, the errant wheel assembly could strike a vehicle, stationary object, or a bystander. These issues could result in property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the center cap on each wheel.

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling various 2003-2018 Crossroads, Dutchmen, and Keystone recreational trailers equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V755-5127.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. Risk: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Keystone will notify owners and instruct them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. - FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:AUXILLARY TANK#12V187000
CROSSROADS IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2012 ELEVATION RECREATIONAL VEHICLES, MANUFACTURED FROM NOVEMBER 7, 2011, THROUGH FEBRUARY 22, 2012. THE ONBOARD, AUXILIARY FUEL STORAGE TANK IS INSTALLED TOO HIGH, WHICH DOES NOT PERMIT THE TANK TO BE FILLED PROPERLY. AS A RESULT, FUEL MAY COME BACK OUT OF THE FUEL FILLER NECK AND SPILL.
Risk: IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, THIS COULD CAUSE A FIRE OR AN EXPLOSION WHICH MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH.
Remedy: CROSSROADS WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FUEL TANK MOUNTING BRACKETS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JUNE 28, 2012. OWNERS MAY CONTACT THOR AT 937-596-6849 OR CROSSROADS AT 260-593-2866.
- WHEELS:HUB#12V023000
CROSSROADS RV IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2012 RUSHMORE AND ELEVATION RECREATIONAL VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM JUNE 1, 2011, THROUGH JANUARY 12, 2012, WITH PANTHER STYLE 16 8-LUG ALUMINUM WHEELS. THESE VEHICLES HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED WITH AN INCORRECT WHEEL CENTER CAP. THE CENTER CAP THAT WAS ASSEMBLED WITH THE TRAILER DID NOT PROVIDE ADEQUATE CLEARANCE TO ALLOW THE WHEEL TO FULLY SEAT ON THE HUB FACE OF THE AXLE. THIS CAN RESULT IN A WHEEL BECOMING LOOSE AND POTENTIALLY COMING OFF OF THE TRAILER.
Risk: A WHEEL SEPARATION CAN LEAD TO LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE TRAILER INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH, SERIOUS INJURIES, OR DAMAGE TO OTHERS.
Remedy: CROSSROADS RV WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND REPLACE THE CENTER CAPS FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 12, 2012. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CROSSROADS RV AT 1-888-226-7496.
