Issue: On certain motorhomes, the furnace may turn on and off too often (short cycle). As a result, the furnace burn chamber could overheat and crack. If this happens, carbon monoxide could build-up inside the motorhome when the furnace is used. Safety Risk: A build-up of carbon monoxide inside the trailer could result in carbon monoxide poisoning. Corrective Actions: Forest River will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development. To reduce the safety risk, Forest River advises not to use the furnace until the recall repairs are completed.

Issue: On certain RV trailers and motorhomes, the quick disconnect fittings for the propane (LP) gas system may be defective. As a result, the fittings could crack and leak propane. Safety Risk: A propane gas leak could create the risk of a fire or explosion. Corrective Actions: Forest River will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your RV trailer or motorhome to a dealership to replace the quick disconnect fittings on the propane system and perform a leak test.

Issue: On certain motorhomes equipped with a Dometic propane gas stove, there could be an odour of propane gas after a short period of use. If a user attempts to tighten the bolt for the stove's valve in order to stop the smell, they could over-tighten the bolt and cause damage to a seal. This can result in a constant gas leak. Safety Risk: A propane gas leak could create the risk of a fire or explosion. Corrective Action: Forest River will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to a dealer to replace the defective hardware and perform a leak test. If you smell propane gas inside your motorhome, you should evacuate and turn off the gas supply immediately.

  • Accessories#2017610

    61,287 units affected

On certain motorhomes equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly.
