Safety Risk: A short circuit can create the risk of a fire, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, FCA advises not to charge your vehicle and to park it outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures until the recall repairs are completed. FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and advise you take your vehicle to a dealership to update the high-voltage battery pack control module (BPCM) software. The dealer will also inspect and, if necessary, replace the battery pack assembly.

As a result, the connection could build a high-resistance and overheat. Note: This connection is located on the floor behind the driver's seat. Safety Risk: A high-resistance connection could cause a fire. This can happen even if the vehicle is parked. Corrective Actions: FCA will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to install a gasket on the 12 volt battery isolator post. Additionally, the dealer will also inspect the isolator post connection joint and, if necessary, replace the isolator post and 12 volt electrical cables. Note: FCA advises you to take the following precautions until the final repairs are completed: - Do not park your vehicle inside of a building or structure, or near other vehicles. - Keep liquids out of the backseat area, including things like beverages, wet items, umbrellas, or bottled liquids that may leak.
