Issue: On certain electric motorcycles, the lithium battery pack could fail. As a result, the battery could overheat and/or there could be a loss of power to the wheel. Safety Risk: A battery that overheats could create a fire risk. A sudden loss of power to the wheel could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Cake will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to inspect the serial number of the battery pack. If the serial number is in the affected range, Cake will provide you with precautions to take while charging your motorcycle until the recall repairs are completed. Once the repair parts are available, the company will send a second notice and provide you with a replacement battery pack and instructions for how to replace it. You can contact Cake Service if you would like help inspecting or replacing the battery pack.

Cake 0 Emission USA Inc (Cake) is recalling certain 2018-2023 Kalk&, Kalk Ink&, and Kalk :work motorcycles. The lithium-ion battery cells can fail while charging.
Risk: Battery cell failure increases the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Cake will replace the battery pack, free of charge. As an interim action, owners will be instructed to check their battery serial number and if necessary, follow interim charging instructions until the remedy battery is available. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed January 19, 2024. A second notice will be sent once the remedy becomes available, anticipated March 2024. Owners may contact Cake customer service at service@ridecake.com.
