Transport Canada recalls

03
  • Label#2024544

    587,250 units affected

Issue: On certain vehicles, the tire and loading information label does not list that there is no spare tire in both official languages. The label reads as "NONE" when it should read as "NONE / AUCUN". Canadian regulations require the information to be listed on the label in both English and French. Safety Risk: This error does not affect vehicle safety. Corrective Actions: This is not a recall. The company has corrected the tire and loading information label for all new vehicles.

  • Powertrain#2023646

    79 units affected

Issue: On certain vehicles, the integrated transmission control unit (ITCU) may not be sealed properly. As a result, transmission oil could leak into the unit and cause the transmission gears to seize. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the wheels. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the ITCU. The dealer will also inspect the transmission fluid and replace it, if necessary.

  • Seats And Restraints#2023208

    26 units affected

Issue: On certain vehicles, incorrect head restraint guide sleeves may have been installed on the second-row outboard seats. As a result, the head restraints may not lock in place and could move in a crash. Safety Risk: Head restraints that move in a crash could increase the risk of an injury. Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the second-row outboard seat head restraint guide sleeves, and replace them if necessary. To minimize the safety risk, BMW recommends not to transport people in the second-row outboard seats until the recall repairs are completed.
