Transport Canada recalls

03
  • High Voltage#2025320

    7,231 units affected

Issue: On certain vehicles, a problem with the electric drive motor software could cause the vehicle to enter a fail-safe mode. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the wheels. Note: This problem would cause a warning light to turn on and a warning message to be displayed. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the electric drive motor software. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a BMW dealership.

  • Label#2024544

    587,250 units affected

Issue: On certain vehicles, the tire and loading information label does not list that there is no spare tire in both official languages. The label reads as "NONE" when it should read as "NONE / AUCUN". Canadian regulations require the information to be listed on the label in both English and French. Safety Risk: This error does not affect vehicle safety. Corrective Actions: This is not a recall. The company has corrected the tire and loading information label for all new vehicles.

  • Structure#2024472

    136 units affected

Issue: On certain vehicles, the beam that supports the left-rear wheel arch may be cracked. As a result, the strength of the vehicle structure could be reduced in a crash. Safety Risk: Vehicle structure that isn't strong enough could increase the risk of a fire and/or injuries in a crash. Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the left-side support beam.
