Issue: On certain motorcycles, the engine connecting rods could break and cause an engine failure. This could cause a sudden loss of power with an inability to restart. Safety Risk: An engine failure could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Aprilia will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a dealer replace the engine. Aprilia advises that you should not ride your motorcycle until the recall repairs have been completed, except to take it to the dealer for this repair.

U.S. NHTSA recalls
01- ENGINE#21V502000
Aprilia is recalling certain 2021 RS 660 and Tuono 660 motorcycles. The engine crankshaft connecting rod may break due to improper heat-treatment.
Risk: A broken connecting rod can cause a sudden engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the engine, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 9, 2021. Owners may contact Aprilia customer service at 1-212-380-4400. Aprilia's number for this recall is PA2ZZQ2107.
