Transport Canada recalls

02
  • Suspension#2021230

    1,208 units affected

Issue: On certain trailers equipped with a Dexter Smart-Steer 2.0 self-steering axle, the bolts that attach the steer arm to the knuckle could break. If this happens, the steer arm or the bolts could detach from the trailer. Safety Risk: Parts that detach from the trailer could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Manac will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a Dexter Canada authorized service facility to weld the steer arms to the knuckles.

  • Structure#2019448

    808 units affected

Issue: Certain trailers were built with a rear impact guard that does not meet the minimum load requirements of Canadian regulations. Safety Risk: This could increase the risk of injury to the occupants of a vehicle that impacts the rear-end of the trailer. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their trailers to an Alutrec-approved service center to inspect the rear impact guard. Reinforcements will be added to the rear impact guard as needed, at no cost to the owner.
