Issue: On certain aerial devices, the wiring in the engine compartment may have been routed incorrectly. As a result, the wiring could become damaged by contact with the hood. If this happens, the wiring could short circuit and melt. Safety Risk: Wiring that overheats and melts could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Altec Industries will notify owners by mail and advise you to contact Altec Service to inspect and, if necessary, re-route the wiring and fuse block. To reduce the safety risk, Altec advises to periodically inspect the wiring for signs of damage until the recall repairs are completed.

  • Structure#2018566

    5 units affected

On certain aerial devices with an aluminum work platform, the mounting holes on the aluminum platform could crack or elongate and fail, increasing the risk of injury to the operator or bystanders. Correction: Altec will provide owners with a reinforcement bracket kit and instructions on how to install it. Note: Owners are advised to inspect the platform mounting holes immediately. If any damage or cracks are found, the unit should be taken out of service until the reinforcement bracket kit is installed.
