Safety Risk: A spare tire that falls from the trailer could create a hazard for other road users and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Airstream will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development. Airstream recommends that you should inspect the spare tire carrier to ensure that it's secure before driving. You should also check it periodically throughout your trip.

Issue: On certain RV trailers, an unused wire for a rooftop air conditioner could separate from its connector. If this happens, the wire could touch the outside of the trailer and energize it. Note: This recall only affects RV trailers that don't have a rooftop-mounted air conditioner. Safety Risk: A trailer body that is energized (has power flowing through it) could create the risk of a shock or electrocution. It could also create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Airstream will notify owners by mail and advise you to bring your RV trailer to a dealership to remove the air conditioner prep wire from the circuit breaker and power converter.

Note: This recall only affects RV trailers and motorhomes equipped with a Suburban SDS2 cooktop. Safety Risk: A propane gas leak could create the risk of a fire or explosion. Corrective Actions: Airstream will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome or RV trailer to a dealership to repair the cooktop. Airstream advises not to use the cooktop until the recall repairs are completed.

Issue: On certain RV trailers, the entry door window glass may not properly adhere to the metal frame. As a result, the glass could separate from the window frame and fall from the trailer. Safety Risk: A glass panel that detaches from the trailer could create a hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Airstream will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your RV trailer to a dealership to inspect the entry door window glass. The dealer will install a trim strip to secure the window and, if necessary, replace the window.

Issue: On certain RV trailers and motorhomes, the burner control valve for the interior cooktop could become damaged. If this happens, the valve could leak propane. Safety Risk: A propane gas leak could create the risk of a fire or explosion. Corrective Actions: Airstream will notify owners by mail and instruct you to contact an Airstream dealer to arrange an inspection of the cooktop. If the serial number is within the affected range, the dealer will replace the cooktop. Note: Dometic (the cooktop manufacturer) advises that you must immediately shut off the propane supply at the tank regulator. Don't use the propane system in your RV until the cooktop recall repairs have been completed.
