    Issue: On certain RV trailers and motorhomes, the aluminum tubes that connect the gas valves to the cooktop burners could crack. If this happens, the tubes could leak propane. Note: This recall only affects RV trailers and motorhomes equipped with a Suburban SDS2 cooktop. Safety Risk: A propane gas leak could create the risk of a fire or explosion. Corrective Actions: Airstream will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome or RV trailer to a dealership to repair the cooktop. Airstream advises not to use the cooktop until the recall repairs are completed.

    Issue: On certain RV trailers and motorhomes, the burner control valve for the interior cooktop could become damaged. If this happens, the valve could leak propane. Safety Risk: A propane gas leak could create the risk of a fire or explosion. Corrective Actions: Airstream will notify owners by mail and instruct you to contact an Airstream dealer to arrange an inspection of the cooktop. If the serial number is within the affected range, the dealer will replace the cooktop. Note: Dometic (the cooktop manufacturer) advises that you must immediately shut off the propane supply at the tank regulator. Don't use the propane system in your RV until the cooktop recall repairs have been completed.

    Issue: On certain RV trailers, the propane (LP) regulator could fail. If this happens, high-pressure propane could reach the appliances. Note: This recall only affects trailers equipped with a Winntec model 6020 propane regulator. Safety Risk: Unregulated propane pressure can create the risk of an appliance fire. Corrective Action: Airstream will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your travel trailer to a dealer, to replace the propane (LP) regulator.

U.S. NHTSA recalls

  • EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:OVEN/STOVE/COOKTOP#23V134000

    Airstream Inc. (Airstream) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Basecamp, Bambi, Atlas, and Interstate travel trailers, equipped with certain SDS2 2-Burner Drop-in Cooktops. The internal aluminum burner tubes that connect to the gas valves may fracture and cause a gas leak.

    Risk: A gas leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

    Remedy: Dealers will install a regulator support bracket, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 29, 2023. Owners may contact Airstream Customer Service at 877-596-6111 (Travel Trailer ext. 7491) or (Touring Coach ext. 7401).

    Airstream, Inc. (Airstream) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Basecamp, Bambi, Atlas, Interstate, and Interstate 19 travel trailers equipped with certain 2-burner cooktops. The burner control valves may become damaged, causing a gas leak.

    Risk: A gas leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

    Remedy: Dealers will inspect, and if necessary replace the cooktop, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 7, 2022. Owners may contact Airstream customer service at 1-877-596-6505 or 1-937-596-6111 ext. 7401 or 7411.

  • EQUIPMENT:RECREATIONAL VEHICLE/TRAILER:LPG SYSTEMS#21V671000

    Airstream, Inc. (Airstream) is recalling certain 2021 Flying Cloud, Bambi, Caravel, Classic, Globetrotter, and International recreational vehicles, equipped with Winntec model 6020 two-stage propane regulators. The regulator may fail, causing an increase in propane pressure.

    Risk: Increased propane pressure can enlarge the flames in gas appliances, increasing the risk of a fire.

    Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the regulator, as necessary, and test the propane system for leaks, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 8, 2021. Owners may contact Airstream customer service at 1-877-596-6505 or 1-937-596-6111 ext. 7401 or 7411.
