Pour certains véhicules, les mesures correctives liées au présent rappel sont en cours d'élaboration. Pour d'autres, aucun nouveau chauffe-moteur ne peut être installé, si bien que les propriétaires intéressés s'en verront rembourser le prix d'achat.

  Sur certains véhicules, une exposition prolongée à une humidité et à une température absolues élevées, combinée à un cycle à température élevée, pourrait éventuellement détériorer l'agent propulsif dans le coussin gonflable du côté passager (avant). Par conséquent, le coussin gonflable pourrait être déployé avec plus de force que la normale. Si le véhicule était impliqué dans une collision nécessitant le déploiement des coussins gonflables, des fragments pourraient être projetés vers les occupants du véhicule et le coussin gonflable pourrait être endommagé, ce qui l'empêcherait de fonctionner adéquatement. Ces problèmes pourraient augmenter les risques de blessures. Mesure corrective : Les concessionnaires devront remplacer le coussin gonflable du côté passager (avant). <br><br> Remarque : Le climat canadien provoque une détérioration lente de l'agent propulsif. Le présent rappel constitue une précaution en vue d'éviter les risques éventuels, et il vise le remplacement des générateurs de gaz de coussin gonflable avant que leur fonctionnement ne soit touché. Dans le cadre d'un rappel précédent, le générateur de gaz d'origine du coussin gonflable du côté passager (avant) des véhicules de modèle Matrix pourrait avoir été remplacé par un générateur de gaz identique comme solution temporaire jusqu'à ce qu'une solution permanente soit trouvée. Le présent rappel, qui vise le remplacement du coussin gonflable du côté passager, constitue la solution permanente pour les véhicules touchés.

  Sur certains véhicules, une application non uniforme de graisse durant le processus de fabrication pourrait faire en sorte que le commutateur principal des glaces électriques du côté du conducteur se coince ou cesse de fonctionner en raison d'une usure au niveau d'un point de contact électrique. Cela pourrait permettre l'accumulation de débris entre les points de contact, ce qui pourrait provoquer un court-circuit. En cas de court-circuit, le commutateur pourrait surchauffer, produire de la fumée, fondre et/ou provoquer le déclenchement d'un feu pouvant entraîner des blessures ou des dommages matériels (ou les deux). Correction : Les concessionnaires devront inspecter le commutateur principal des glaces électriques du côté du conducteur et appliquer de la graisse spécialisée qui empêche l'accumulation de chaleur, ou remplacer la carte de circuits imprimés du commutateur principal des glaces électriques, selon les besoins.   Dans certains véhicules, les circuits électriques de l'ensemble du volant peuvent s'endommager. Par conséquent, le coussin gonflable du conducteur peut mal fonctionner, causant l'illumination du témoin d'avertissement du coussin gonflable dans le tableau de bord. Si le coussin gonflable du conducteur ne se déployait pas comme prévu lors d'un accident (où son déploiement est nécessaire), cela pourrait augmenter les risques de blessures pour le conducteur. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront remplacer le câble en spirale.

  Dans certains véhicules, les ressorts du mécanisme de réglage de position de siège avant pourraient se briser, ce qui ferait que le siège semblerait être bloqué en position même s'il ne l'est pas. En cas d'accident, le siège pourrait glisser vers l'avant ou vers l'arrière, et augmenter les risques de blessures corporelles et/ou de dommages aux biens. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront inspecter les glissières de siège et les remplacer au besoin.

  Toyota Canada, par l’entremise de son réseau de concessionnaires, offrait comme accessoire un régulateur de vitesse fabriqué par Rostra Precision Controls, Inc., modèle AP800 pour les modèles Yaris 2006 à 2010. Le régulateur de vitesse Rostra est monté à gauche et en dessous du volant de direction, derrière le tableau de bord (sous le porte-gobelet), une commande étant installée sur la colonne de direction pour permettre au conducteur d’activer le régulateur de vitesse accessoire Rostra. Rostra a confirmé que dans de très rares cas, lorsqu’un appareil radio mobile bidirectionnel (utilisé sous permis par un personnel d’urgence, dans des conditions et à des fréquences spécifiques réglementées au Canada) est utilisé dans le véhicule, le régime du moteur peut fluctuer ou varier légèrement pendant une courte période. Cela peut se produire lorsque l’appareil radio mobile bidirectionnel portable est utilisé en mode de « transmission », à certaines fréquences spécifiques et à une très courte distance du régulateur de vitesse Rostra se trouvant sous le tableau de bord. De plus, si cette condition se manifeste, le conducteur pourrait constater que le témoin de mauvais fonctionnement (MIL) du tableau de bord s’allume et qu’il y a une diminution de la puissance du moteur. Toyota a confirmé que la condition susmentionnée n’est pas attribuable à un défaut de l’équipement d’origine du véhicule. Correction: Pour préserver la confiance de leurs clients dans la sécurité et la qualité de leur véhicule, Toyota Canada recommandera de retirer du véhicule le régulateur de vitesse accessoire Rostra. Le retrait sera effectué sans frais pour le propriétaire du véhicule, et le prix d’achat initial du système lui sera également remboursé. Ce rappel vise à satisfaire la clientèle et n'est pas exigé par la Loi sur la sécurité automobile.

  Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2010-2016 4Runner, 2003-2006 Tundra, 2003-2013 Corolla, 2009-2010 Corolla Matrix, 2004-2005 RAV4, 2002-2007 Sequoia, 2011-2013 Sienna, 2008-2012 Scion xB, 2008-2009 Lexus IS-F, 2007-2012 Yaris and Lexus ES350, 2010-2017 Lexus GX460, 2002-2010 Lexus SC430, 2006-2012 Lexus IS250 and IS350 and 2010-2015 Lexus IS250C and IS350C vehicles. These vehicles had their driver or passenger frontal air bag inflators previously replaced under a prior recall using inflators of the same design. The inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.

  Risque: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.

  Correctif: Toyota will notify owners. Depending on the vehicle model, dealers will replace the front driver inflator, front passenger airbag inflator, the airbag assembly, or the front passenger airbag sub-assembly and inflator.   On January 9, 2018, Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) notified NHTSA that they are recalling 14,585 model year 2010-2012 Yaris vehicles ever registered in the states of Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. As of January 30, 2018, Toyota is additionally recalling 3,347 model year 2010 Pontiac Vibe vehicles located in states listed above. Also included in this recall filing is 98,194 model year 2003-2008 Toyota Corolla Matrix vehicles, located throughout the U.S., that previously received a “like-for-like” interim air bag inflator replacement. These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules used as original equipment or replacement equipment.   Toyota Motor Company (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2009-2011 Tundra, Sequoia, Corolla, Corolla Matrix and Scion xB, 2008-2011 Highlander and Highlander Hybrid, 2007 Camry and Camry Hybrid, 2009 Camry and Camry Hybrid, 2006-2011 RAV4, 2006-2010 Yaris, and 2009-2010 Scion xD and Pontiac Vibe vehicles. During the manufacturing of the Power Window Master Switch (PWMS), grease lubricant may have been inconsistently applied to the sliding electrical contacts.

  Risque: If the sliding electrical contacts are not protected by lubricant, debris and moisture that get into the switch may cause a short circuit and the switch assembly may overheat and melt, increasing the risk of a fire.

  Correctif: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the switch, applying a lubricant if no abnormality is found. If abnormality is found, the PWMS circuit board will be replaced, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin December 20, 2015. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331.   Toyota is recalling certain model year 2006-2008 RAV4, 2006-2010 Yaris, 2008-2010 Highlander, and 2009-2010 Tacoma, Corolla, Corolla Matrix and General Motors Pontiac Vibe vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the steering column assembly contains electrical connections to the driver's airbag module housed in a spiral cable assembly, which includes a Flexible Flat Cable (FFC). Due to the shape and location of the FFC's retainer, the FFC could become damaged when the steering wheel is turned.

  Risque: If the FFC is damaged, connectivity to the driver's air bag module could be lost and the air bag deactivated. The failure of the driver's air bag to deploy in the event of a crash that typically necessitates deployment increases the risk of injury to the driver.

  Correctif: Toyota will notify the Toyota vehicle owners, and General Motors will notify the Pontiac Vibe owners. Toyota sent owners an interim notification letter in May 2014 to advise owners of the recall. Toyota will mail owners a second letter when remedy parts are available. General Motors sent Pontiac Vibe owners an Interim letter on June 20, 2014 notifying them that parts are currently unavailable. General Motors sent notices to the Pontiac Vibe owners on September 15, 2014, that a remedy is available. The recall began on October 27, 2014. Owners may contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331.   Toyota is recalling certain model year 2006-2010 Yaris vehicles manufactured August 22, 2005, through May 12, 2010, and 2008-2010 Scion xD vehicles manufactured April 4, 2007, through May 12, 2010. In the affected vehicles, the springs used for the seat rails on the driver's seat and the seat rails of the front passenger seat of three-door models may break.

  Risque: If the spring breaks, the seat may not lock in position. In the event of a vehicle crash, the seat could move increasing the risk of injury to the seat occupant.

  Correctif: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the seat rail, and replace it with a new one, if necessary, free of charge. The recall began on July 3, 2014. Owners may contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331.
