Problème : Sur certains camions, le témoin du système de freinage antiblocage (ABS) du tracteur pourrait ne pas s'allumer s'il perd de sa puissance. Si cela se produisait, le conducteur ne serait pas averti que l'ABS ne fonctionne pas correctement. Remarque : Ce problème pourrait également empêcher les témoins du système d'antipatinage à l'accélération et du contrôle électronique de stabilité (ESC) de s'allumer. Risques pour la sécurité : Si le conducteur n'est pas averti que l'ABS ne fonctionne pas correctement, les risques de collision peuvent être accrus. Mesures correctives : PACCAR doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'emmener leur camion chez un concessionnaire pour faire mettre à jour le logiciel du module de contrôle de la cabine (CECU).

Sur certains véhicules munis de moteurs PACCAR MX-13 et d'alternateurs Leece Neville, le câble de charge de l'alternateur pourrait s'user par frottement contre une conduite d'évacuation de climatisation. Ce frottement pourrait endommager la gaine de câble de l'alternateur et causer un court-circuit, ce qui augmenterait les risques de déclenchement d'un feu pouvant entraîner des blessures ou des dommages matériels (ou les deux). Correction : Les concessionnaires devront faire tourner l'extrémité du câble de l'alternateur de 180 degrés, afin de laisser un jeu suffisant, puis fixer de nouveau le câble à l'alternateur.

Sur certains véhicules munis d'un moteur PACCAR MX-13 et d'un alternateur Delco-Remy 40SI, le câble du chargeur pour l'alternateur pourrait s'user par frottement contre une tuyauterie de sortie du climatiseur. L'usure pourrait engendrer des dommages à l'isolant du câble de l'alternateur et un court-circuit, augmenter les risques de feu et ainsi causer des blessures et/ou des dommages aux biens. Correction : Les concessionnaires doivent faire pivoter l'extrémité du câble de l'alternateur de 180 degrés afin de créer un jeu suffisant pour le câble, puis rebrancher ce dernier à l'alternateur.

Certains véhicules ne satisfont pas aux exigences de la Norme de sécurité des véhicules automobiles du Canada (NSVAC) 120 – Sélection des pneus et des jantes. L'étiquette de pression des pneus et de charge maximale pourrait comporter une pression incorrecte des pneus, inférieure à la valeur réelle par 5 lb/po2, ou des renseignements incorrects sur les pneus, les jantes et la pression de gonflage pour lesquels le poids nominal brut sur essieu (PNBE) maximal est légèrement inférieur au PNBE du véhicule. Des pneus qui ne sont pas assez gonflés pourraient ne pas pouvoir supporter la charge maximale, comme le reflètent le PNBE et le poids nominal brut du véhicule (PNBV) figurant sur l'étiquette de certification, ce qui pourrait causer une crevaison pouvant entraîner des blessures ou des dommages matériels (ou les deux). Correction : Le constructeur devra envoyer une nouvelle étiquette de certification sur les pneus et les jantes.

Sur certains camions munis de soupapes de relais antiblocage Bendix ATR-6, lorsqu'il fait très froid (température égale ou inférieure à -18 °C), une fuite interne au niveau des soupapes ATR pourrait se produire. Cela pourrait faire en sorte que les freins se serrent subitement, ce qui pourrait faire surchauffer les freins visés et causer un incendie. De plus, dans certains conditions de faible adhérence, un serrage inattendu des freins pourrait causer une perte de contrôle du véhicule et un accident. Ces problèmes pourraient endommager des biens matériels ou blesser quelqu'un. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront mettre à jour le couvercle sur les soupapes ATR.

09- ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC)#20V199000en anglais seulement
PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain 2008-2019 Peterbilt 330, 335, 337, 340, 348, 365, 367, 384, 386, 387, 388, 389, 567, 579 and 587 vehicles and 2008-2020 Kenworth T170, T270, T370, T660, T680, T800, T880, and W900 vehicles equipped with NAMUX Software. In the event that the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) loses battery and/or ignition power to the controller, the dash warning light for the ABS may not illuminate to warn the driver of the loss of ABS. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 121, "Air Brake Systems," and 136, "Electronic Stability Control System on Heavy Vehicles."
Risque: If the driver unknowingly operates the vehicle without the ABS functioning, there would be an increased risk of a crash.
Correctif: PACCAR will notify owners, and dealers will update the NAMUX software within the cab control module, free of charge. PACCAR issued owners an interim notification on June 4, 2020. Paccar Incorporated (Paccar) is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 Peterbilt 579 and 587 trucks manufactured February 14, 2011, to December 5, 2012 and 2011 Kenworth T700 trucks manufactured September 21, 2010, to October 1, 2010. The affected trucks are equipped with Fontaine Ultra LT Fifth Wheel connectors, which, due to cumulative damage to the fifth wheel and its locking mechanism, have a locking mechanism that may fail to operate or to properly engage.
Risque: If the fifth wheel and locking mechanism are sufficiently damaged, the locking mechanism may fail to operate as intended and the trailer may unexpectedly detach from the tractor, increasing the risk of a crash.
Correctif: PACCAR will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fifth wheel with an Ultra NT model fifth wheel, free of charge. The recall began on December 7, 2015. PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain model year 2012-2016 Peterbilt 365, 367, 384, 386, 388, 389, 567, 579, and 587 trucks manufactured January 13, 2011, to April 20, 2015. The affected trucks, equipped with extended-body Leece Neville alternators, have alternator charge cables that may chafe against a formed metal freon discharge line.
Risque: If the alternator cable rubs through its insulation, an electrical short may occur, increasing the risk of a fire.
Correctif: Peterbilt will notify owners, and dealers will reroute the alternator charge cable away from the metal freon line and install a plastic insulator on the cable end, free of charge. The recall began on September 23, 2015. Owners may contact Peterbilt customer service at 1-940-591-4000. Peterbilt's number for this recall is 715-K.

PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain model year 2014 and 2015 Kenworth T660, T680, and T800 trucks manufactured January 29, 2013, to April 2, 2014, and 2013 Peterbilt 587 trucks manufactured on August 8, 2012. The affected trucks are built with a driveshaft that may not transmit power to the wheels due to weld failure from corrosion.
Risque: If the weld fails causing a loss of power to the rear wheels, the vehicle operator may be unable to move the vehicle, or may experience deceleration if the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
Correctif: PACCAR will notify owners, and dealers will replace the defective driveshafts, free of charge. The recall began on July 15, 2015. PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Kenworth T660, T680, T880 trucks manufactured February 18, 2013, to April 10, 2015, and 2011-2016 Peterbilt 386, 389, 567, 579, and 587 trucks manufactured December 13, 2010, to April 20, 2015. The affected trucks, equipped with PACCAR MX-13 engines and Delco-Remy 40SI alternators, have alternator charge cables that may chafe against a formed metal freon discharge line.

PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain model year 2006-2016 Peterbilt 587, 579, 567, 389, 388, 387, 385, 382, 379, 378, 367, 365 and 357 trucks manufactured July 25, 2005, to February 26, 2016. The affected vehicles may be equipped with Tire and Rim Certification Labels that list a tire pressure below the actual correct amount. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 120, "Tire selection and rims and motor home/recreation vehicle trailer load carrying capacity information for motor vehicles with a GVWR of more than 4,536 kilograms (10,000 pounds)."
Risque: If the tires are underinflated due to the incorrect inflation pressure listed on the label, the truck may not be able to carry the maximum gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) load listed without experiencing tire failure which would increase the risk of a crash.
Correctif: Peterbilt will notify owners and mail them a corrected Tire and Rim certification label, free of charge. The recall began on June 19, 2015. Owners may contact Peterbilt customer service at 1-940-591-4000. PACCAR's number for this recall is 215-D.
- STRUCTURE:BODY:DOOR#14V015000en anglais seulement
PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Peterbilt 587 vehicles manufactured May 8, 2012, through October 24, 2013, and equipped with Inteva-brand door pad assemblies. Due to loose fasteners, the door pull portion of the door pad assembly may separate from the door when used.
Risque: If an occupant is using the door pull to assist in getting in or out of the vehicle, the sudden detachment of the pull handle may result in a fall, increasing the risk of injury.
Correctif: PACCAR will notify owners and dealers will inspect and torque the fasteners to the correct specification, free of charge. The recall began on March 5, 2014. Customers may contact Paccar at 1-425-468-7400. Peterbilt's number for this recall is 1213G.

PACCAR is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Kenworth T680 and T880 trucks and model year 2013-2014 Peterbilt 567, 579 and 587 trucks equipped with air ride seats. The cables for anchoring the seat belt buckles of both the driver and passenger seat may fray.
Risque: In the event of a crash, a frayed seat belt could cause the belt to separate from the seat, increasing the risk of injury to the seat occupant.
Correctif: PACCAR will notify owners, and dealers will replace both seat belt buckle assemblies, free of charge. The recall began on May 9, 2013. Owners may contact Kenworth at 1-425-828-5000 or Peterbilt at 1-940-591-4000.

PACCAR IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2012-2013 KENWORTH T170, T270, T370, T440, T470, T660, T700, T800, W900, AND PETERBILT 320, 330, 337, 348, 365, 367, 382, 384, 386, 388, 389, AND 587 VEHICLES, MANUFACTURED FROM JANUARY 31, 2011, THROUGH JANUARY 19, 2012, AND EQUIPPED WITH BENDIX ATR-6 ANTILOCK TRACTION RELAY VALVES. IN EXTREMELY COLD CONDITIONS, THESE BENDIX RELAY VALVES MAY POTENTIALLY DEVELOP INTERNAL LEAKAGE. INTERNAL LEAKAGE CAN LEAD TO AIR PRESSURE BEING DELIVERED TO AFFECTED PRIMARY OR SECONDARY BRAKE CAUSING CONTINUOUS BRAKE APPLICATION.
Risque: UNEXPECTED CONTINUOUS BRAKE APPLICATION CAN CAUSE THE BRAKES TO OVERHEAT AND LEAD TO A FIRE. UNEXPECTED CONTINUOUS BRAKE APPLICATION CAN CAUSE THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. ALSO, THE BRAKES MAY BE APPLIED WITHOUT ILLUMINATING THE BRAKE LIGHTS, FAILING TO GIVE PROPER WARNING TO OTHER DRIVERS.
Correctif: PACCAR WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND PROVIDE A TEMPORARY REPAIR UNTIL BENDIX DEVELOPS A PERMANENT REMEDY. THIS SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON FEBRUARY 10, 2012. OWNER MAY CONTACT KENWORTH AT 1-425-828-5440 AND PETERBILT AT 1-940-591-4196.
