  Problème : Sur certains autobus, le mauvais type de verre pourrait avoir été installé sur le panneau inférieur de la porte d'entrée. Par conséquent, le verre pourrait ne pas respecter certaines exigences de la réglementation canadienne. Risques pour la sécurité : Le mauvais type de verre pourrait réduire la visibilité et pourrait augmenter les risques d'accident. Mesures correctives : Motor Coach Industries (MCI) doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur fournir les instructions pour remplacer le panneau de verre inférieur. Les propriétaires peuvent également prendre rendez-vous à un centre de services autorisé MCI pour faire remplacer le panneau de verre inférieur.

En conséquence, ces composantes pourraient surchauffer, ce qui pourrait résulter en un incendie au niveau du véhicule blessant quelqu'un ou endommageant des biens matériels. Correction : Les installations autorisées de MCI devront poser un porte­fusible révisé pour les lumières intérieures à DEL.

  Sur certains autocars, les boulons de moyeu, de rotor ou de roue pourraient avoir été mal serrés lors du montage des essieux avant ou des essieux traînés. Un couple de serrage insuffisant pourrait entraîner un desserrement par vibrations des boulons et faire en sorte qu'une roue se détache. Cela pourrait provoquer un accident, endommager des biens matériels, blesser quelqu'un ou entraîner des pertes de vies. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront vérifier le couple des boulons de plaque adaptatrice de roue/de rotor/de moyeu visés et remplacer les boulons au besoin.

  Sur certains véhicules munis d'un dispositif de levage de fauteuil roulant Ricon série F9, un interrupteur mal fabriqué dans la boucle de retenue du dispositif de levage pourrait permettre au dispositif de levage de fonctionner sans que le loquet de la courroie de sécurité ne soit entièrement verrouillé. Si la courroie n'était pas adéquatement fixée, une chaise roulante pourrait ne pas être adéquatement protégée contre les mouvements non désirés, ce qui résulterait en un risque de chute qui pourrait blesser quelqu'un gravement ou entraîner des pertes de vies. Correction : Le fabricant devra fournir des instructions et des décalcomanies d'avertissement.

  Sur certains véhicules, le dispositif élévateur de fauteuil roulant Ricon, dans le compartiment à bagages numéro 2, pourrait se dégager de son système de verrouillage et glisser. Par ailleurs, lorsque le dispositif est replacé manuellement dans le compartiment à bagages, le mécanisme d’entraînement pourrait également ne pas s’enclencher adéquatement et ainsi permettre au dispositif de se déplacer librement, de défoncer la porte du compartiment, de se déployer à l’extérieur des véhicules pendant qu’ils roulent et de causer des dommages matériels ou des blessures. Mesure corrective : Le fabricant et les concessionnaires devront installer un dispositif de rattrapage conçu par Ricon.

  Motor Coach Industries (MCI) is recalling certain 102DL3, 102D3, MC12PTV, E4500, D4000, 102D3ISTV, D4500, J4500, D4000ISTV, D4005, D4505, and J3500 transit buses. Please refer to MCI's recall report for specific model year information. The front door lower curb view glazing material is incorrect. As such, these vehicles fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 205, "Glazing Materials."

  Risque: The incorrect window glazing material may reduce the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

  Correctif: MCI will replace the glass, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 4, 2026. Owners may contact MCI customer service at 1-800-241-2947. MCI's number for this recall is 22-005.

  Motor Coach Industries (MCI) is recalling certain model year 2011-2013 and 2015 J4500 coaches manufactured November 18, 2011, to July 10, 2015, 2011-2012 and 2014-2015 D4000 coaches manufactured manufactured September 24, 2010, to September 5, 2015, 2011-2013 and 2015-2016 D4005 coaches manufactured January 17, 2011, to November 23, 2015, 2012-2014 and 2016 D4000ISTV coaches manufactured July 18, 2012, to December 2, 2015, 2010-2016 D4500 coaches manufactured April 15, 2010, to December 18, 2015 and 2011-2016 D4505 coaches manufactured December 15, 2010, to December 4, 2015. The affected buses are equipped with certain Recaro Ergo-M Commercial Bus Driver Seats that have J-Brackets that may be missing welds which could allow the seat belt anchorage assembly to separate from the J-Bracket.

  Risque: If the seatbelt anchorage assembly separates from the J-Bracket, the bus driver may not be properly restrained in the event of a crash increasing their risk of injury.

  Correctif: MCI will notify owners and dealers will inspect the seats and determined if welds are missing. Any J-Bracket that is missing welds will be removed and replaced, free of charge. The recall began on February 15, 2016. Owners may contact MCI at 1-800-241-2947. MCI's number for this recall is SB 431.

• ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING:FUSES AND CIRCUIT BREAKERS#14V329000en anglais seulement16 juin 2014

  Motor Coach Industries, Inc (MCI) is recalling certain model year 2009-2011 D4000 and D4500 and 2010 D4505 motor coaches equipped with LED lights interior lights powered by either a Vansco or IO multiplex system. Due to the excessive power draw of the LED lights, heat may build up at the fuse block and connector, causing the components to melt.

  Risque: If this occurs, the surrounding material may be damaged and will burn, increasing the risk of a fire.

  Correctif: MCI will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuse holders, free of charge. The recall began in July 2014. Owners may contact MCI customer service at 1-847-285-2090. MCI's number for this recall is 388B. Note: This recall supersedes recall 12V-250. Motorcoaches that were remedied under the previous campaign need to be remedied under this campaign as well.

  Motor Coach Industries (MCI) is recalling certain model year 2000-2012 D, E, G and J series coaches manufactured January 2000 through June 2011 and equipped with Sure Power battery equalizers containing a particular epoxy sealing, aka 'potting', compound. The specific potting compound used in the subject products for insulation was found to be capable of conducting electricity after being exposed to heat.

  Risque: Once electrically conductive, the material is capable of melting and burning, increasing the risk of a fire.

  Correctif: MCI will notify owners, and Sure Power will replace the equalizers, free of charge. Owners may contact MCI at 1-847-285-2000. This campaign is MCI service bulletin 401.

  MOTOR COACH INDUSTRIES (MCI) IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2003, AND 2007-2012 E AND J MODELS ALONG WITH MODEL YEAR 2007-2012 D4000, D4005, D4500, D4505, D4000ISTV MOTOR COACHES EQUIPPED WITH MERITOR WABCO ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) MODULES, MANUFACTURED FROM OCTOBER 2002, THROUGH OCTOBER 2011. UNDER CERTAIN ROAD AND DRIVING CONDITIONS, VEHICLE BODY ROLL AND ROAD INCLINATION CHARACTERISTICS MAY ADVERSELY AFFECT THE SLIP ANGLE CALCULATION OF THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) SYSTEM. THIS MIGHT CAUSE THE ESC TO PERCEIVE AN OVER STEERING SITUATION AND THEREFORE APPLY THE OUTER WHEEL BRAKE ON THE FRONT AXLE UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS PERCEIVED TO BE STABLE.

  Risque: IF THE DRIVER IS SLOW TO REACT DURING THIS ESC INTERVENTION, THE VEHICLE MAY DEVIATE FROM THE INTENDED LINE OF TRAVEL, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

  Risque: THE COVER WILL EVENTUALLY FAIL AS A RESULT OF FATIGUE, AND THE COVER MAY BECOME DETACHED FROM THE COACH AND FALL AND STRIKE A PERSON OR OBJECT, RESULTING IN PERSONAL INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.

  MCI IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010 D4000, D4005, D4500, D4505, E4500, AND J4500 MODEL MOTOR COACHES MANUFACTURED FROM SEPTEMBER 2009 THROUGH MAY 2010, EQUIPPED WITH ARVINMERITOR FRONT AND TAG AXLE ASSEMBLIES. THE SUSPECT AXLES MAY HAVE HAD IMPROPER TORQUE APPLIED TO THE HUB/ROTOR/WHEEL ADAPTER BOLTS DURING THE ASSEMBLY PROCESS. REDUCED BOLT TORQUE COULD LEAD TO VIBRATION LOOSENING OF THE BOLT.

  Risque: THIS COULD RESULT IN A LOSS OF THE WHEEL POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A CRASH.

• EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY#10V114000en anglais seulement24 mars 2010

  MCI HAS NOTIFIED NHTSA OF A DEFECT IN CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2009 D4000 AND MODEL YEAR 2008-2010 D4500 AND D4505 MOTOR COACHES FITTED WITH RICON PUBLIC USE LIFTS. THE RESTRAINT BELT ON THESE LIFTS WAS DESIGNED TO PREVENT THE LIFT FROM MOVING, UNLESS THE TONGUE OF THE BELT IS FULLY ENGAGED AND LATCHED IN THE BUCKLE. RICON HAS DISCOVERED, HOWEVER, THAT IT IS POSSIBLE FOR THE OPERATOR TO INSERT THE BELT TONGUE INTO THE BUCKLE WITHOUT FULLY ENGAGING THE LATCHING MECHANISM. IN THIS CASE, THE RESTRAINT BELT WOULD APPEAR TO BE LATCHED, AND THE OPERATOR COULD RUN THE LIFT. IF THE RESTRAINT BELT TONGUE IS NOT FULLY ENGAGED INTO THE RESTRAINT BELT BUCKLE, AND LATCHED, THE LIFT MAY OPERATE WITH AN OCCUPANT ON THE PLATFORM.

  Risque: THE USER OF THE LIFT COULD BE INJURED SHOULD THE LIFT MOVE WITHOUT THE RESTRAINT BELT PROPERLY BUCKLED.

  Correctif: MCI IS WORKING WITH RICON AND RICON WILL BE HANDLING THE REMEDY FOR THIS CAMPAIGN. PLEASE SEE RICON'S DEFECT REPORT 09E-060. THE WHEELCHAIR LIFT MAY BECOME DISENGAGED FROM A LOCKED POSITION AND SLIDE UNRESTRAINED ON ITS ROLLERS IN THE STORAGE STRUCTURE, POTENTIALLY BREAKING THROUGH THE CASSETTE DOOR AND EXTENDING BEYOND THE OUTSIDE OF THE DOOR WHEN THE COACH IS IN MOTION, PARTICULARLY WHEN THE COACH IS MAKING A LEFT TURN.
