Si cela se produisait, le conducteur ne serait pas averti que l'ABS ne fonctionne pas correctement. Remarque : Ce problème pourrait également empêcher les témoins du système d'antipatinage à l'accélération et du contrôle électronique de stabilité (ESC) de s'allumer. Risques pour la sécurité : Si le conducteur n'est pas averti que l'ABS ne fonctionne pas correctement, les risques de collision peuvent être accrus. Mesures correctives : PACCAR doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'emmener leur camion chez un concessionnaire pour faire mettre à jour le logiciel du module de contrôle de la cabine (CECU).

  Sur certains camions à incendie, les anneaux de retenue de la soupape de surpression pourraient ne pas avoir été faits d'acier inoxydable de haute qualité et pourraient se détériorer au fil du temps en raison d'une exposition fréquente à de l'eau. En cas de bris des anneaux de retenue, la soupape de surpression pourrait cesser de fonctionner et empêcher la pompe à incendie de produire une pression suffisante, ce qui pourrait augmenter les risques de blessures pendant les opérations de lutte contre les incendies. Mesure corrective : Les concessionnaires ou les techniciens certifiés devront inspecter les anneaux de retenue et les remplacer au besoin.

  Sur certains véhicules, de l'eau pourrait se diriger vers la tête du moteur des essuie-glaces et causer de la corrosion à l'intérieur. Cette corrosion pourrait former un siphon conducteur, lequel pourrait causer un court-circuit et rendre le système d'essuie-glaces non fonctionnel. La perte d'essuie-glaces par temps pluvieux ou neigeux pourrait nuire à la vision du conducteur, et le court-circuit pourrait augmenter les risques de feu causant des blessures ou des dommages aux biens. Correction : Les concessionnaires doivent installer un écran protecteur par-dessus le moteur des essuie-glaces pour le protéger contre les infiltrations d'eau et ainsi empêcher la corrosion de ses composantes.

  Sur certains camions munis de soupapes de relais antiblocage Bendix ATR-6, lorsqu'il fait très froid (température égale ou inférieure à -18 °C), une fuite interne au niveau des soupapes ATR pourrait se produire. Cela pourrait faire en sorte que les freins se serrent subitement, ce qui pourrait faire surchauffer les freins visés et causer un incendie. De plus, dans certains conditions de faible adhérence, un serrage inattendu des freins pourrait causer une perte de contrôle du véhicule et un accident. Ces problèmes pourraient endommager des biens matériels ou blesser quelqu'un. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront mettre à jour le couvercle sur les soupapes ATR.

  PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain 2009-2021 Kenworth C500, 2012-2021 Kenworth T440, 2009-2015 Kenworth T660, 2015-2024 Kenworth T680, 2009-2024 Kenworth T800, 2009-2020 Kenworth T370, 2014-2023 Kenworth T880, 2011-2016 Kenworth T470, 2023 Kenworth T480, and 2009-2019 Kenworth W900 vehicles. The air tanks have an insufficient volume of air for the brake system. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."

  Risque: Insufficient air volume can reduce braking performance and increase the risk of a crash.

  Correctif: Dealers will install the correct volume air tanks, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 12, 2024. • ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC)#20V199000en anglais seulement6 avril 2020

  PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain 2008-2019 Peterbilt 330, 335, 337, 340, 348, 365, 367, 384, 386, 387, 388, 389, 567, 579 and 587 vehicles and 2008-2020 Kenworth T170, T270, T370, T660, T680, T800, T880, and W900 vehicles equipped with NAMUX Software. In the event that the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) loses battery and/or ignition power to the controller, the dash warning light for the ABS may not illuminate to warn the driver of the loss of ABS. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 121, "Air Brake Systems," and 136, "Electronic Stability Control System on Heavy Vehicles."

  Risque: If the driver unknowingly operates the vehicle without the ABS functioning, there would be an increased risk of a crash.

  Correctif: PACCAR will notify owners, and dealers will update the NAMUX software within the cab control module, free of charge. PACCAR issued owners an interim notification on June 4, 2020.   Ferrara Fire Apparatus, Inc. (Ferrara) is recalling certain 2015-2016 Inferno and International 4400, 2013-2016 Igniter, 2014-2017 Cinder and Freightliner M2 106, 2013-2014 Ember and 2013-2017 Kenworth T370 fire-fighting vehicles, equipped with Hale pressure relief valves in the water pumps used for fire fighting. Rings securing the valves may corrode over time after exposure to water, causing the ring to fail and the pressure relief valve to open, reducing the water pressure available for fire fighting.

  Risque: A reduction in water pressure may hinder fire fighting efforts, increasing the risk of injury.

  Correctif: Ferrara will notify owners, and Ferrara certified dealers or technicians will replace the relief valve retaining ring with one that is stainless steel, free of charge. The recall began on February 12, 2018. Owners may contact Ferrara customer service at 1-800-443-9006.

  PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain model year 2011-2016 Kenworth T270, T370, T440, T470, C500, C540, C550, T660, T800, W900, and 963 trucks manufactured November 1, 2010, to April 6, 2015. In the affected trucks, water may leak into the wiper motor.

  Risque: As water leaks in, the wiper may cease to function on the 'intermittent' setting, reducing the driver's visibility and increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, the water may cause corrosion which, over time, may result in an electrical short, increasing the risk of a fire.

  Correctif: PACCAR is still developing and testing a remedy. The recall is expected to begin in July 2015. An interim letter was sent to owners on July 2, 2015.   Kenworth is recalling certain model year 2012 and 2013 T270 and T370 medium duty trucks built with Eaton Ultrashift transmissions between December 7, 2011, and April 6, 2012. The air harness from the treadle valve on the affected vehicles was routed in a manner that can cause the air brake lines to be pinched between the cab and the electronic clutch actuator of the Eaton Ultrashift transmission. Significant movement between the cab and transmission can cause progressive wear and an eventual leak in the air lines.

  Risque: Air lines which leak can cause reduced brake function, which may result in a crash.

  Correctif: Kenworth will notify owners, and dealers will repair the vehicles free of charge. The safety recall began on November 30, 2012. Owners may contact Kenworth at 1-425-828-5000.

  PACCAR IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2012-2013 KENWORTH T170, T270, T370, T440, T470, T660, T700, T800, W900, AND PETERBILT 320, 330, 337, 348, 365, 367, 382, 384, 386, 388, 389, AND 587 VEHICLES, MANUFACTURED FROM JANUARY 31, 2011, THROUGH JANUARY 19, 2012, AND EQUIPPED WITH BENDIX ATR-6 ANTILOCK TRACTION RELAY VALVES. IN EXTREMELY COLD CONDITIONS, THESE BENDIX RELAY VALVES MAY POTENTIALLY DEVELOP INTERNAL LEAKAGE. INTERNAL LEAKAGE CAN LEAD TO AIR PRESSURE BEING DELIVERED TO AFFECTED PRIMARY OR SECONDARY BRAKE CAUSING CONTINUOUS BRAKE APPLICATION.

  Risque: UNEXPECTED CONTINUOUS BRAKE APPLICATION CAN CAUSE THE BRAKES TO OVERHEAT AND LEAD TO A FIRE. UNEXPECTED CONTINUOUS BRAKE APPLICATION CAN CAUSE THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. ALSO, THE BRAKES MAY BE APPLIED WITHOUT ILLUMINATING THE BRAKE LIGHTS, FAILING TO GIVE PROPER WARNING TO OTHER DRIVERS.
